What about the rear sight? Be raised? Added to?
Not likelyWhat about the rear sight? Be raised? Added to?
I thought about that, TIG'ed up and reprofiled. Way above my abilities tho. What about the rear sight? Be raised? Added to?
Nope, shooter's just fine. Several have shot it.I've been quiet, but finally I have to ask . . . . There's lots of discussion here about serious modifications to a fixed sight gun. It's not unheard of for one to be off a bit, but this one seems to be way off. That makes me think that something else is going on. Perhaps it's something shooter-related. (Yeah, I had to bring that up). What's your sight picture, OP? Have you had someone else shoot it? Best to figure out if it is indeed a gun problem before removing metal.

...it's been out of production 20yrs, Smith doesn't need any cover ran for them lolNope, shooter's just fine. Several have shot it.![]()
I believe they did in the pre-model # era. They don't with modern stuff, they just don't care lol.You know, the joke may be on us. Smith and Wesson may have purposely made the front sight too tall, so that it could be filed down to suit the individual shooter and load.
Operator error. JMHOIt's .095" too tall …
Any suggestions?
....ill take my imaginary rear up 8 clicksOperator error. JMHO
Revolvers with adjustable sights use the rear sight to adjust POA to POI.
