A most disquieting experience.

As Ron White would say: "It's NOT racist, it's profiling".

Good story, and I hope a just ending. I don't know Ohio practices, but if this had happened in NY, they would have been given an appearance ticket and escorted to the nearest Holiday Inn for a free night's sleep.

Oh boy, Polk Co., Fla. isn’t exactly Mayberry. At least Sheriff Judd is on our side. My daughter taught middle school there; it didn’t sound like a joyful place.
Compared to Port Charlotte, it is Mayberry. There’s a sign there that reads something like “Leave your New York politics back home, or take it and yourself back there”. Not sure of the exact wording; I’ll snap a picture of it next time we’re up there.

Good for you Rusty! If more folks were observant, neighborhoods would all be better off.

PS - Here is a good story. It would have been hilarious if when pulled over, they were 4 “mature” women, and the driver explained that yesterday she was driving around with some friends, and spotted a “sexy hunk” of a man wearing some gorgeous, provocative Cheetos pants! When she got back to the assisted living facility, and relayed the story, other friends wanted to see him. She said she would oblige them for $5 a piece, and had time to make 2 more trips. By the next morning, she had a list of 20 more residents that wanted a “look”! She had just made the first trip, when on the way back to the facility, she was pulled over. She explained to the police that they were disappointed that the “hunk” had changed out of his Cheetos pants, but they still thought he was a “HOTTIE”, and she had made money for the next poker game!😂

Good eye , as most people tell themselves that it's nothing then a crime happens. I'm a retired Detective and can't tell you how many times a neighbor saw something but because of fear of being called racists did nothing and a crime occurred. Ignore the idiots that called you racist as you waited until they did it a number of times. Hell , I was working a burglary and a neighbor came up and said , I'll bet the guys coming out the back dore with the TV were the burglars. You just shake your head.

Yesterday I assumed my position on the porch swing. Around mid afternoon Ruthie was at Wal-Mart, Logan was across town doing a large lawn job and JR was inside creating yet another art masterpiece.

I heard the sound of a kicker box thumping coming towards me. It was an old beat up light gray Honda Civic occupied by four young people from south of the border. They crept up the street at 5mph. I thought it odd.

20 minutes later they came back crawling at the same speed. My spidey sense went off. I believe they were casing the neighborhood for open garage doors, porch packages or other targets of opportunity.

I went inside and grabbed my little pocket companion, my LCP.

30 minutes later they came back. I didn't brandish but I stood up and glared at them. They sped up and took off.

Today, an hour hour after I assumed my porch station and they came back. I called the police and related my experience with a description of the car and occupants.

They thanked me for my concern and said they would notify and give the description to all their patrol officers to have them identify themselves and see what they are up to.

I got a call a little while ago from the police. They spotted them, pulled them over and asked for ID. Surprise, surprise they were here illegally.

ICE, ICE baby!
A few years ago I was out in my yard and a car with 4 teenagers came through our neighborhood slowly, their heads on a swivel, they looked really out of place. After they went by I got in my car and followed them for a bit, wrote down the tag number and called the local police. The police pulled them over and found out they were from another city and it came to light they were looking for a guy who had beat up one of their friends and were looking for revenge. I don’t know exactly what they had in mind but they will not be coming back to our area again. They came from an urban area and found out things work differently “out in the country”.

Pairing the shirt with the pants might just bring the fashion police to your home. Expect a citation if this couple shows up.

Well if the gun didn't scare them away those pants would.

You believed your racist guess without any evidence. None.
Well... look at my photo, I'm a mulatto/half-n-half, whatever you want to call it (my family calls me graham cracker lol). If I say I see a car full of Haitians going 5mph up and down my road multiple times and I get suspicious and call the law, am I racist? If we had a ton of illegal Russians coming in and causing some trouble and you saw a car full of white guys in adidas track suits going up and down your road and you call the police and tell them you think there are some Russians up to no good... would you be racist??? Where I live, if I see anybody go down my road multiple times that I don't recognize, I'm investigating. If I end up calling the Sheriff (we don't have a P.D.), darn right I'm going to be as descriptive as possible. The racial crap is way beyond getting annoying.

Now that’s funny!

A carload of gopniks would get my attention

I'm pretty sure if I reported a carload of gopniks to the sheriff I'd have to explain what a gopnik is.

Rusty, you done good. Personally, I don't believe in coincidence. I would've also picked up the phone. However, as much as I like the 380, I'd reserve that for bad breath distance. With potential 4:1, I'd have a 1911 at hand with an A5 pattern shotgun with a duckbill barrel loaded with #4s!
