Americans Bought How Many Guns in 2 months?

So... Americans are buying guns in record numbers. Cool. I myself contributed to the current statistic for this month as last Wednesday I bought a nice little 15-22... and since then have happily found and bought 8 bricks of .22 LR ammo. That is not a lot of ammo. But, it's more than I had. And if I keep buying ammo at the rate I shoot, I'll get to have a lot of fun with that little 15-22.

One thing that has also been stimulated beyond firearms and ammo is the secondary market of accessories. Currently I am looking for 15-22 magazines. And... I'm thinking I may put on flip down sights so that I can mount a scope, etc.

According to the emails I have been getting from my local community newsletter, the police in Baltimore county claim only 40% of all guns sales are reported (background checks) so that would mean those numbers would be off by 60%.

The Baltimore County Police are also making an appeal to pass legislation sponsored by the police commissioner that would stop the sale of assault rifles and high capacity magazines so and I quote "the police would not be so heavily out gunned". What a load of malarkey that is.

Why don't the police just buy more guns with higher capacity magazines in larger calibers in full auto and a tank or two?
Or maybe a few heavy machine guns mounted on squad cars.

I wonder if the Police Commissioner is planing on running for Governor.

In the three LGS's I've been to this week...

...all I see are some shotguns (no semi-auto tho) some sporting bolt actions in non-308/.338 calibers, several single action revolvers and a smattering of high-end ($1500+) semi-custom 1911's.

No .22, 38/357, 9mm, 40, 45, 5.56/223 or 308 ammo...none, nada, zip.

Thank goodness that infamous Friday afternoon bought every reloading component I could get my hands on!

For a good time and some laughs, cruise over to backpage. A whole lotta insane "stuff" goin' on there right now, holy mackerel!

I did not contribute to that number, because I used my C&R to purchase my last few. I think a 1957 38/44 Outdoorsman is capable of returning fire as well as a wonder nine. The model 16 and the safety hammerless aren't as much a self defense weapon, but will work in a pinch.
