Sure they can read! ;)

Welcome to the entitled Generation.
If someone else has more than you, simply whine, "it's not fair".
I started out working in my uncles Western Auto store part time
making 2 bucks an hour and it was enough for me to buy gas,
make car payment, and have money left over to take a gal out
on a date occasionally.

Turning on the Fry machine was NEVER meant to be a Career Choice.

They will eventually be replaced by self serve kiosks and robots.

Yeah it won't be long and it'll cost $15 for a burger and $10 for a order of fries.

857th Bomb Squadron, 492nd Bomb Group

The 492nd Group became operational on 11 May 1944. Flying out of North Pickenham as a member of the 14th Bomb Wing, the 492nd became a favorite target for the Germans who knocked down eight 492nd B-24s on 19 May, fourteen on the 20 June mission to Politz and twelve on 7 July. In less than three months, in fact, 492nd losses had reached a startling total of nearly 60 aircraft -- a rate that could not be continued.

The ill-fated 492nd was taken off operations and, in reality, broken up. The designation 492nd was assumed by a provisional group, the 801st, which continued to operate as a special unit engaged in night operations over Europe -- the so-called CARPETBAGGER missions.

Corporal Phillip S Brinkman of the 486th Bomb Group painted the nose art of a B-24 Liberator 42-52693 "Aries" of 857th Bomb Sqdn, 492nd BG.

It's 56 degrees at 02:35 in the desert and dropping, not bad. Maybe later I will get some sleep maybe not. Had a nap this afternoon now I am paying for it and if it keeps going like it is tonight it will happen again tomorrow.

At this point no hoards have been spotted but I will continue to watch till sleep catches up with me. Need to train me an owl to do this night watch thing. They already can say"who" I just need to teach one to add in "goes there". Something to think about while I am sitting here wide awake.

Good morning all. It's about 50 degrees here in Houston and we're supposed to have a sunny 72 degree day. No reason for me not to go do some scouting this morning and burn off the breakfast I just ate.

About a quarter of a mile that I walk each morning is close to an intersection that is well manned by panhandlers begging for handouts during the day. There are a couple of folks there during the day who are obviously supplementing a meager income and who appear every morning by car and in clean clothes. When I walk through the area at 5:00 to 5:30 AM I see the mentally ill and or drug addicted homeless bundled up trying to sleep on the pavement. I do not think any of the folks begging on the street want to be there. The folks that are there week after week and who are camping as best they can at 5:30 when I go by are simply surviving. I feel for them but do not give them anything, there are simply too many.

It's time for me to hit the road, scout for hoards, and think thin thoughts. Each of you have a great day!

I feel pretty much like you kwselke, there are just too many for the resources I have. Wish I knew a solution. I got a jury summons for later in the month and will have to be downtown very early in the morning in order to be on time and the streets are full of people that are sometimes very aggressively panhandling all around the courthouse and the areas where you have to park. Makes me wish I could carry but can't in the court.

Going to shoot sporting clays this morning.....sometimes my shotgun shells don't have any BBS in them. That has to explain my 50% hit rate (or worse) on sporting clays.....let's see if this old German piece can make me a better shot.....bought from my favorite pawn shop in Jacksonville Beach for $350....prettiest gun I own and the shotgun I shoot the best....a figurative phrase, of course....happy Saturday Drifters.
