No NOT animals!

But wifey and I went to several antique malls today after Church. Because I collect Morgan and Seated US silver dollars.

I found two, worth the money. One 1878 Morgan (1st year of production) I bartered it down to $28 (they were asking $36) in VF condition. And another 1921 Morgan (common date) but in mint condition for $22 (asking $28) at two different antique malls. We hit three malls total.

Wifey found a beautiful real CUT Crystal Glass bowl with feet, about 8" in diameter. For $125 and I got em down to $85. Perfect for our dresser. It has a good ring to it, when thumped. It looks like probably from the 1880's-1890's? It's old.

So besides Colt 1911's and Smith Revolvers and men's jewelry. US gold and silver coins are my other bad habits. She says sometimes, I look like Mr T?

Wifey collects old cut glass and old mine cut diamond jewelry and my money! LOL! She Loves old diamond stick pins from the turn of the century. And me and the kids and grandson always try to find a unique old diamond stick pin for her birthday or Christmas.

But I guess when you get old, you collected stuff, is what you do. So the kids can fight over it when your gone. I'm not leaving a will, but three large cans of mace? We'll see who wins!

It got me thinking, what else do people collect on the forum?

I remember that Member Dick Burg said 8-10 years ago, that he collected very very old spoons and forks.

Antique bottles and U.S. old coins. Good deal on the Morgans. They are going up beyond the silver value. Biggest deal right now are the Peace Dollars, they practically give them away. I've gotten a lot of them at the local pawn shop for $20 each, some XF and up. Everyone wants the Morgans. I get those for $21. Most are VF and up, though I've seen polished ones that they expect a premium for...I was born at night, but not LAST night.

Well I missed a day and it took me almost that long to catch up here. Some good stuff posted but that was to be expected from you folks.

I see some of you have had a lot of wind and cold air blowing through. Well it's been nice and warm here in the desert with a slight breeze just to make everything nice. Yes I'm smiling.

At present it's 63 degrees in the desert down from 91 earlier today. Got the windows open and it feels good.

Down loaded Windows 10 onto my lap top yesterday which was Windows 8. I hated Windows 8 but 10 seems to be a lot better so far. I don't have Office on the lap top so I also downloaded LibreOffice and that works fine and is free. Did I say free yes I did and compared to Windows Office which is way over $100 it's a good deal and will read the windows stuff.

I'm typing this on the old PC which is Windows 7 and I ain't changing it. At least not until it dies or something because I like it and it works like it should.

When I downloaded 10 I read that it would take over an hour to download so I was prepared for a long wait. What I didn't realize was that it would take almost SEVEN HOURS to down load. That's how I spent my Saturday night, sitting around watching a stupid computer do nothing. I mean I could have gone to the 500 mile snail races or something and it would have been quicker. Of course I haven't been sleeping much at night anyway so it gave me something to do I guess. Oh well I suppose it could have been worse, I guess although I don't know how.

Mumble.grumble.mumble. White. The road is turning white.
And the plows will be by later.
Ugh.
I have a training class today.
Ugh.
Can't stay home and play (choking sound) in the white stuff. (sigh)

Hey, pawngal, congrats on winning the shotgun. Free stuff is cool.
(Unless it's white stuff fallin' out deh sky.)

Good morning all. It's 53 here and calm. The high today is supposed to be about 80 under clear and calm skies.

I ordered another pair of running shoes this weekend from DSW online. There was a $10 off online only deal which was not available in the DSW stores. I went to the DSW store about 1/2 mile from me tried on the shoes and came home and ordered them online to get the extra $10 discount. To make things funnier the DSW online order system could only take PayPal or DSW gift cards as payment. For some reason their Credit/Debit card processing system was not working. So I went to my local Kroger and bought a DSW gift card and got double Kroger Fuel points for the gift card purchase, which will give me another 10 cents off my next purchase of gas at Kroger.

It's time for me to head out and scout for hoards of whatever may want to do harm to mankind. I'll be back in a couple of hours to see how many of you have awakened. Each of you have a great day!

Good morning drifters. It's 58 here in the desert this morning and still going down. Should be around 90 before the day is done though. It seems there were no attacks by the hoards over night and this is a good thing.

Stopped by a couple of other sites and the crazies are still out there. I sometimes wonder what is the most dangerous, the hoards or the crazies. At least if the hoards attack we can defend ourselves but with the crazies they are protected by law. Go figure.

The more I need to mess with plastic computer controlled modern technology, the more I want to get a restored model A.
Heater isn't good, unless you can find an illegal gas heater to add.

Crawled out of bed at 0520, had to get the debris packaged for disposal as I was too tired and lazy last night. Plenty of parking for Wolf behind the Daytona Beach Red Lobster, just off 95. I got the stuff out to the curb before 0600, getting properly dressed betwixed. It is now 0712 and the blokes you usually wake me up on Monday Morning at 0605...have yet to arrive.

Who had something brilliant and witty to post and let it slip his alleged mind. Sigh...happens more often lately, I blame it on lack of caffeine and carbonation in my diet.

A man had been drinking at the bar for hours when he mentioned something about his girlfriend being out in the car. The bartender, concerned because it was so cold, went to check on her. When he looked inside the car, he saw the drunk's buddy, Pete, and his girlfriend going at it in the back-seat. The bartender shook his head and walked back inside. He told the drunk that he thought it might be a good idea to check on his girlfriend. The drunk staggered outside to the car, saw Pete and his girlfriend entwined, then walked back into the bar laughing. "What's so funny?" the bartender asked. "That damned Pete!" the drunk chortled, "He's so drunk, he thinks he's me!"

After a beautiful day yesterday, back in the 40's for the rest of the week.

Got the 2 granddaughters yesterday afternoon.

Good Morning Everyone!

Well, it was a LOOONG night. Our power went out @ 3:30 a.m.! I woke straight up. Wifey jumped up, grandson got up. It was total silence. We have ceiling fans through out the house. And as soon as they shut down we awoke. And heard limitless beeps of alarm clocks and microwave shut down and our smoke detectors that are hard wired, go to battery back up. But, Wifey says I have to have a fan up my butt at all times? True? But I think I like the noise of the fan, more than the air blowing up my butt? Maybe, Maybe Not?

So I get up and its pitch black for miles? We're up on a ridge and have a good view I knew It was way too black to be just a blown transformer on one or two streets. So I look on my phone at about 4:00 and the news said 8,300 homes in my area lost power because of (get this) a Racoon at a power station?

So at about 5:45, they came back on. Wifey was happy because she could kadiddle with her hair. Or what ever she spends 20-30 minutes each morning doing? She has a curling iron in one hand and a straightener in the other? And She talks about my fan?

So any how, I hope EVERYONE has a Great Day! Stay Safe! Stay Well and Avoid those power robbing Racoon's at all cost!

I'm going back to bed!! And oh yeah, the ceiling fan is on HIGH blowing right up my butt! Be sure and tell wifey! She'll be happy to know she's right!
