Annoyed at thread drift

What's Up?

Having trouble getting/loading the Drift? Oh well!

Today its storming. But this weekend is supposed to be nice. Perfect weather for the Good Guys car show. The high Saturday is 70 degrees. Perfect!

Had to go this morning and get a valve stem replaced on my 32 Ford Hot Rod. My son has been cleaning on it and was buffing the Torque Thrust wheels and got a little too aggressive on the rear. Luckily he noticed the tire was low, came in and told me and I knew right away what happened. No big deal. I've done it before, not on these wheels, but I have done it. He was amazed that I knew what it was. But He yanked it off and I took it and a new chrome valve stem to Discount Tire and they replaced it for me, even rebalanced it and didn't charge me a dime! And even checked the air in my truck tires. Then I went to Mickey D's to get breakfast and sit in the drive through line, longer than I was at Discount Tire! And luckily it was a slow leak, because I had driven it right after he buffed the wheels, the other night. And I kind'a lit them up a few times. It's hard not too. Glad he noticed last night, before we headed to the car show tomorrow. Just Lucky he saw it. I would have hated to ruin the rim or the tire, or both! Both are expensive! And NO spare.

So just sitting here and watching all the Thunder Storm warnings and beeps going across the bottom of the TV screen. And listening to the hard rain. And waiting on the cold front to come through, for the Beautiful Weekend weather!

I hope everyone has a great rest of the day. Stay safe! Be well and check your tires air pressure! Because you never know when you'll whack your valve stem? That didn't come out right? Neither did that! Oh, just forget it! Y'all know what I mean? Check Your Tires!!!

Just drifting in to read a few posts before I finish up for the day. I wonder how much business the small Beer makers are taking from the big ones? Ice cream truck just cruised by my shop door peddling his wares but I resisted! Drift on!

The last I heard, the 'Craft' small brewers have 10% of the market, imports have about 15% of the market. This is by volume. The mega-domestic beers still control the volume market, but are losing the margin. The mega beers have become commodities like gasoline and pork bellies (yes, bacon is a commodity). The craft beers are supporting pricing. I hope that makes since.

I have tried to keep my own comments about Homer's diary of the events on the USS Yolo to a minimum. I feel compelled to comment on today's entry. My father was Officer Of the Deck on Yolo when the attack on the New Mexico occurred. I will not try to explain what he told me of the events other than it was a battle to the death. Those that know the feeling will understand.

Even though the weather was bad during the night there were no alerts and all hands rested. With dawn the weather improved enough to station the special sea detail and get under¬way for the Yontan anchorage even though all stores were not aboard. There, anchored by the stern, the bow would be away from the sea and thus loading could continue. The signalman has 70 messages from ships wanting provisions. Lighters were scarce so Bridge, after much delay, loaded the remainder of the stores in her LCMs.

This evening a totally unexpected GQ was signaled. Two undetect¬ed Oscars approached Hagushi, circled the anchorage, selected as their target the battleship New Mexico anchored within 100 yards of Yolo, and then with machine guns blazing attacked in screaming dives from a high altitude. The first Oscar was hit by AA and plunged in the sea but its bomb exploded making the BB's stack look like a giant blowtorch. The second, al¬though hit, crashed New Mexico's sun deck and island destroying most of the AA battery concentrated there. Casualties were heavy with 54 killed and 119 wounded. Other enemy were in the area until 2200. Later the Japanese indicated that on May 10-12 Kikusui VI was launched. Of the approximately 300 planes involved some 150 were kamikazes.

Apparently, the sofa hog family that turned the waiting room into an Irish pub was escorted from the hospital by 6 security guards last evening.

Just pretend this is hwitty.

There are no sofa hogs in Irish pubs. Such places are considered almost holy and deserving of a high level of decorum by all present thereat.[emoji56]

Rusty you must be hanging out with the upper class beer drinkers, around here the closest thing you get to a real glass of beer is a red plastic cup. When I did drink beer it was usually brown bottles and I was accused of being a snob for not getting cans!

This is what beer should look like:

No political or economic agenda. No territorial oath of allegiance.

If it has to bear a label, it should read: 'I am here to love you and make you happy.'

Amen! And there should not be any corn or chemicals or food coloring in them either

Hoping this little guy will become a member of the family Friday. His owner, a very elderly man, is no longer able to care for him.

Now that's done, why did you shave the dog on your reloading bench? :)

No rain today, just sun, clouds, and lots of wind. So got the yard mowed/baled! Tomorrow guess what, rain and thunderstorms forecast! 😟
Temperatures are to be a low in the 30's tomorrow, and some TV types are saying a chance of frost. They love it! 😕
Horses are getting to spend a long day in the pasture and they are happy! Makes cleaning the barn easier not having to work around them, so guess I am happy to. 😉
Had some fun today watching a big bluejay harass a squirrel over an acorn or something.

Benadryl on top of the other meds makes the drift come in clear ! 😉
As my Dad used to live the secret to life is just keep breathing! 🍀
