So Mrs Raljr1 decided we needed a new mailbox, the old one having been pumpkined by some kids about 2 weeks after we moved in. I patched the old plastic one up and was able to avoid said project for a year and a half. So, new mailbox post in hand, I begin to dig. Of course some of you Drifters may recall my experience with the lampost wire last time I dug in my yard, well, this time it was the irrigation system pipe that felt the sting of my shovel. Fortunately, I had a splice fitting and was able to repair this break more successfully than the wire. So I mix up my concrete to set the new stainless steel post, and although I'm muddy from knees to nose because of the waterline, I have achieved my goal, the post is set. Mrs advises that I'd better hang out front till the cement hardens....okay honey......so of course it starts to rain...out I go with plastic to cover the hole and minimize the water on my new concrete.....as of this morning, all seems well.....future digging may be assigned to someone with less propensity to damage underground stuff.

Good morning everyone and Happy Thursday! Can't wait for the weekend!,that's when the talking weatherheads say that this heat and humidity will break! :) It's already 80 degrees here in the shade and I broke a sweat just taking an electrical recepticle apart! That's bull baloney!
This will be Granddaughter day 3, poor kid it's been that hot out back we've been staying inside until after dinner. She still is getting her pool time in! :D
So I'm getting ready for another hot and humid day indoors!
Drink coffee,,,Drift on!

So Robert, let me see if I understand this correctly?
You now have a lighted mailbox post with a built in water fountain? :D

Good morning drifters, it's 79 degrees here in the desert this morning. Coolest temp we have seen in a long time, may have to put on more clothes this morning and maybe not as it will be 109 or so later in the day.

Bought a ticket for the Mega Million drawing this week if I win I will be able to afford a new gun or two.

Nice trick! Always a learning experience here if you keep an open mind! Haven't used anything but basic math skills for years as I google anything I can't remember how to do.(I don't remember much from college in the 1960's).Went to college after Nam and mostly those years are somewhat hazy. To many fast cars, fast women and other vices around then. Drift on!

Dweezil Zappa put on an amazing show last night, and I was fortunate enough to catch one of the set lists thrown into audience.

There is some terrible stuff going on with the Zappa Family Trust, where Frank's widow Gail (RIP) screwed everyone over before she died. Ahmet has sent 'cease and desist' letters to Dweezil, attempting to prevent him from using the Zappa name.

After being denied Zappa Plays Zappa, Dweezil Zappa Plays Frank Zappa, and a few others, the tour is now named the Dweezil Zappa Plays Whatever The &#$% He Wants tour.

As usual, DZ made the guitar work look effortless. Music flowed like water from his hands, joining the rest of the excellent musicians' incredibly tight sound. Seeing Frank's compositions come to life in front of me will be a memory I won't soon forget.
