Well, folks - I'm off to an evening of weirdness.

Zappa Plays Zappa, or Dweezil Zappa Plays Frank Zappa is on the agenda tonight.

Don't Eat The Yellow Snow !!!

This year is the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Mothers of Invention, so I expect some oddness with a side order of strange. Keep an eye peeled for pics tomorrow.

I once dated a girl named Moonunit.......:eek::eek:

Guns, we don't need no stinking guns !!!

The Recoilless-rifle equipped 2CV pictured is painted in Royal Navy colors and served with the 42nd Commando regiment of the Royal Marines from 1959, which required robust and reliable vehicles to cope with jungle tracks that were light enough to be taken ashore by helicopter from aircraft carriers.

Good morning all. It's a humid 80 degrees this morning in Houston, but it feels like a Crock Pot set on low. Last night on the weather the weather talker explained the weather inside of a car parked in the sun. He predicted that well. I predict I will sweat a lot on my walk this morning and in addition to my skim milk this morning I had a big glass of iced tea, saccharine no sugar. Each of you have a great day!

Yes, but did you know that the ratio of the length of a diagonal of a regular pentagon to the length of its side equals the GOLDEN RATIO ?
That number, (1+ sq rt 5)/2, is the most fascinating number in the Universe.
Dave

Morning all! Kwselke got the weather report right, sweat and more sweat for anyone in Houston operating outside today! No news this morning just fluff that the talking heads seem to prefer. At least they have attractive young women for the weather and the stock reports. More police shootings on video stirring up problems, major attitude problems against police are not helping I am sure. Drift on,don't worry,be happy!

Ran across a memorable S&W Forum member quote last night in the "Worst schmaltzy songs of all time..." thread:

Marshwheeling said:
George Jones was an acknowledged master purveyor of lugubrious schmaltz, but I don't think anyone would call it "bad".
post #18 in the below thread:

How about some drift on most memorable quotes S&W Forum members?

Or, some drift pertaining to lugubrious schmaltz?

Or, schmaltzy characters?
I'll start with Pepé Le Pew:

Yes! Did you know that the Romans referred to that ratio as Sectio Divina (Divine Section)?

Do you realize, Dave, how upset br will be when he discovers that other lovers of mathematics lurk about the forum?[emoji6]

Here is a demonstration of my math skills.

I know if I quarter a pie and eat one piece that will be less pie than if I cut a pie into six pieces and eat two pieces...so I just quarter my pie and eat two pieces because I don't like math.

Just pretend this is hwitty.

I suspect you wouldn't want to hear my presentation on transcendental numbers then. My favorite is the number "e."[emoji12]

From another viewpoint (?) the GOLDEN RATIO Is the correct amount of sausage gravy per biscuit ! Definitely a variable as the size of biscuits varies ! 😋

So Mrs Raljr1 decided we needed a new mailbox, the old one having been pumpkined by some kids about 2 weeks after we moved in. I patched the old plastic one up and was able to avoid said project for a year and a half. So, new mailbox post in hand, I begin to dig. Of course some of you Drifters may recall my experience with the lampost wire last time I dug in my yard, well, this time it was the irrigation system pipe that felt the sting of my shovel. Fortunately, I had a splice fitting and was able to repair this break more successfully than the wire. So I mix up my concrete to set the new stainless steel post, and although I'm muddy from knees to nose because of the waterline, I have achieved my goal, the post is set. Mrs advises that I'd better hang out front till the cement hardens....okay honey......so of course it starts to rain...out I go with plastic to cover the hole and minimize the water on my new concrete.....as of this morning, all seems well.....future digging may be assigned to someone with less propensity to damage underground stuff.

Good morning everyone and Happy Thursday! Can't wait for the weekend!,that's when the talking weatherheads say that this heat and humidity will break! :) It's already 80 degrees here in the shade and I broke a sweat just taking an electrical recepticle apart! That's bull baloney!
This will be Granddaughter day 3, poor kid it's been that hot out back we've been staying inside until after dinner. She still is getting her pool time in! :D
So I'm getting ready for another hot and humid day indoors!

So Robert, let me see if I understand this correctly?
You now have a lighted mailbox post with a built in water fountain? :D

Good morning drifters, it's 79 degrees here in the desert this morning. Coolest temp we have seen in a long time, may have to put on more clothes this morning and maybe not as it will be 109 or so later in the day.

Bought a ticket for the Mega Million drawing this week if I win I will be able to afford a new gun or two.
