Just back from turkey hunt,no birds. Saw a lot of birds but only 1 Tom for 3 hunters. Lot of wild flowers ,no rattlers thank you. Got way behind on the drift but am once again up to full drift speed, but my mind may never be the same again after catching up.

Night Shadows, 1921

Hopper loved movies and it shows in his work.
Here, the aerial perspective and surrounding darkness create tension.
The lone figure on an empty street, going towards the dark. The shadow of the lightpole in his path, as a barrier between the safe and the unknown. Ominous.

It's almost 10:00 PM out here on the East-est Coast.
Got a bit of yard work done. A bit of cookin' done.
It was a useful weekend overall. Not that visiting here isn't useful.
God knows I derive incredible amounts of pleasure from the wonderfully
witty and deeply meaningful posts y'all provide.

Even though I'm awful tired, I just couldn't end this Sunday without vistin'
with y'all and catchin' up on what I've missed.

I got the Savage 69RXL apart, installed the new ejector, and got it all back together. The only glitch was one of the extractors decided to exit the bolt and had to be rounded up and reinstalled. I didn't even lose the plunger!

All back together and cycles correctly.

Hopefully, I'll get to the range this week and put some rounds through it.
