I thoroughly enjoy reading these exerpts from you Dad's wartime diary
Please continue posting them from time to time. If ever the drift had a purpose, reading the unedited thoughts of a young man in the midst of conflict might just be it.

The young man writing is not my father. The diary is that of his commanding officer who I believe would have been about 31 or 32, my father was 22 at the time. They were put back into contact with each other when my dad was 80 and the author was 90.

Good morning drifters, it's 64 wonderful degrees at 07:40 in the desert this morning. The sun came up as usual and this keeps the ice from forming or what ever else happens when you freeze.

BCC you and raljr1 take on your journeys and enjoy yourselves. The pictures are great, I remember some of these places from my visit back in the 60's.

As for the hordes, none were spotted during the evening hours, maybe they're taking a vacation as well. If we could get them to go to the EU maybe they would straighten out some of the problems over there.

Had a good visit with the Doctor.
Found out that I'm fat @ 195 so they have decided and since I'm fat so is my liver? But it's still working ok! My weight is lower now then it was before I had cancer?
The most important thing is that there are no signs of cancer! :D
