Evening drifters it's 80 degrees this evening and may triple digits on Wednesday for the first time this year. Then it will cool back down for a few days according to the weatherman/woman/person.

I do love to watch a good guitar picker work and I like to hear it as well. Wish I could do that. Ya'll posted some good sounds today and I for one really enjoyed them.

And the night shift is drifting along once again looking for the possible hordes of aliens, emu, or whatever else is out there. I think if we bar-b-que a few of the emus the aliens will come down and have a beer and burger with us. Who knows, we won't know for sure if we don't try.

When in the court today, I did just as instructed. I knew nothing about the case, talked to no one about the case, and sought no information on the case during breaks.

The brief description of the indictment given disgusted me and made me angry. I had a high number on the juror panel, but the old country judge had to have just seen it in my face. Twice I was told by the Judge not to answer questions presented directly to me. I took that to mean I had been struck.

Now that I'm not going be on the Capital Murder Trial jury I am free to look into the case, and discuss it.

I ran a quick search and here is the public story that I found.

One of Houston's worst child-abuse cases tough to unravel - Houston Chronicle

Wise choice not selecting me, for this one.

I'm very glad that you don't have to sit through that. Sure hope the jurors are given all the evidence and are able to make the right verdict.

I am apologising to the drift for posting a 'reference' to an article from the New Yorker Magazine about the comeback of Paul Simon, singer and song writer, in which the author of said article used a vulgar and/or inappropriate term.

"In the irresistible logic of guilt, one evil leads to another, one sin is developed out of another. There is nothing abrupt, nothing casual in the process. The road to sin is smooth, because an army of transgressions has passed over it. When such a development takes place, the community is filled with consternation. Men meet each other and say, "Have you heard what has happened? Mr. A. has turned out a defaulter. Mr. B. has been robbing his bank. How could he have done it?" Alas! he did it long ago, when he took the first step, when he diverged a very little way from the path of right. After that, every other step was easy, natural, and logical."

Good morning all. Last night I decided to skip this morning's walk, but I woke up at 4:00 anyway. I had a dehydration headache when I got back from jury duty and will drink large quantities of non-alcoholic beverages today. The emu hordes are free to run amuck for another morning. I noticed yesterday that the Love button, which used to be a Like button, on my Tapatalk app has now changed to a Thanks button. I just accept that my smart phone aint all that smart, and realize it is well worth what I pay for it (very little). More later. Each of you have a great day!
