Coach still in shop, much prep and planning remains, I have to hang a shelf today, clean some guns. Wife shifted carry guns to the M-38, I am taking M-638 and Ruger Security Six 4" HB in blue. First leg of trip will be made with flat nose and ball ammo only. Not taking anything to NY State...period.

Who notes the .357 is a little on the weak side in bear country...which unfortunatly much of Florida is becomming.

Good morning everyone! Looks like we may just be having a nice day here in Maryland!
Last night we went to the Ruddy Duck Brewery and Grille on the Chesapeake for dinner. I had some of the best crab cakes I've ever eaten and believe me I love my crab cakes! ;) They were fantastic!
Washed them all down with two of these,,, very flavorable, very enjoyable taste.

I think this will become a frequent watering hole when visiting the Maryland Clan! :D

Lost a pound or two in Spain with all the walking we did, may have found them here.
For some "Heavenly" pastry just north of the Vatican (one block north of the Ottaviano metro stop), go to the Dolce Maniera bakery at Via Barletta, 27. It's a neighborhood secret, hidden in a basement, with only a nondescript door at the sidewalk. After work, the locals line up, and that's how we discovered it. :D

Good morning drifters. It made it to 106 yesterday in the desert not sure about today but the weatherman/woman/person said it was to be 101 today. We'll see, they are usually wrong but now and then they do get it right. Next week it should drop down to 90 for a day and then back up.

Friday 13th went smooth for me. Went to town to buy food and no problems. Only heard about 4 people being shot on Thursday night, must have been a slow night in Phoenix.

No hordes were seen unless you count the number of police cars that I encountered along the highway. They do get out sometimes on Friday along I-10 and catch a lot of people flying into and out of Phoenix. I'm not complaining cause some of these people need to be caught. Last week some nut on a rice rocket passed me on the white line between me and another car. I think he missed me by about 4 or 5 inches. Oh well I will probably read about him one day getting creamed in town some where.

Spiced tangerine wheat beer, you had two so you liked it. I'd try it, but some may call it froo-froo. ;)

I have the same story only different. When I was younger I was riding through Custer state park on my Gold Wing. I came over a little hill and the road was full of bufflalo, cows and calves. Not wanting to turn around and go back the way I came I just put it in 1st gear and putted through, weaving through the herd like they were cattle. Later after I thought about it if one of those cows thought I was threatening her calf I would have just been a wet spot in the road.

Several years ago one of Custer's park employees told us that the year before a guy riding a Harley had to stop on the Wildlife Loop for a herd of cows and calves to cross. As usual the calves were running back and forth and the cows were taking their time. A line of cars, motorhomes, etc. we're behind the cycle. The story was the cycle rider got impatient, gunned his engine and honked the bikes horn. A cow took exception charged his Harley! The rider baled off, ran to the motor home and climbed the ladder to get on top! The cow proceed to mangle his bike with her horns and hooves. Susposedly several other bison joined in the fun? Horses have been gored while tied up and a bison wanted their hay. Cars have been banged up and photographers chased after getting to close! Big animals, fast and cantankerous, especially cows when they have calves, or young bulls showing off.
Have had close encounters on the trail, especially when you wake one up who is dozing in a tight trail area. But we always find a way to back up, or go around! Been going there with horses over 25 years, and been lucky to not have the bison push the issue. Bison can run faster than a horse!

When I got back in from my walk this morning I realized I have a neighborhood meet and greet social to attend this afternoon and I did not have beer on hand to take with me. I changed into a dry t-shirt and off I went to Kroger for a 12 pack of bargain beer. They had Shiner and Samuel Adams 12 packs on sale for $12.99, but the only variety on hand that I was fond of was Sam Adams Boston Lager. Then I saw it... an unadvertised special, Miller High Life 12 Pack 12 ounce bottles for $6.49. A perfectly good beer to give away to neighbors on a warm afternoon. If the beer snobs do not like it, they should have brought something better to give away.

Ohhh, your killing me. I love Italy, and I feel like I'm there with you right now. :D:D:D:D

No lottery numbers, but where you are, your already a winner. Have a fabulous time!

I do have one tip for you. If you decide to partake of some of the delicious coffee there at one of the ubiquitous coffee bars, drink your coffee standing at the bar like the locals do. If you sit at a table, the price rises substantially. Cost me a small fortune before I figured that one out. :o

My thirteenth was ......OK. I was out among my fellow Texans, playing that driving game that is so popular & beloved here: "If I can pull out in front of you before you hit me, Then I have the right of way." I had three very close calls in a very short distance. I've said it before, & I'll say it again, but the locals seem to think that this is a NASCAR training camp & they hope they will be discovered. I swear, sometimes I feel that I could toss the truck keys in a drawer & never drive again, & I'd be real happy...
