Safe and Sound.

Sun went down about 20 minutes ago here.
76 ° and 52% humidity, with a slight breeze.
But what is really nice is the lightning bugs are out in full force!
Seen a few the past nights, but they are everywhere tonight!!!
Looking over the creek, and the high grass on the other side is an amazing show of light flashes. Always enjoy them!! 😁

If it's a match, I'll take a kidney, please...
I joke with my wife about this all the time. When we pull up beside a motorcycle, I ask my wife if I should roll down my window and find out the rider's blood type. Amazingly, my wife already has many friends who have offered to be tested for a match as soon as she gets on the list. For some reason, people love her and want to keep her around. Me on the other hand...if I needed some body part...bon voyage.

Just pretend this is hwitty.

I heard several public talking heads say that they never imagined that this could happen in their city or state or country. Well if you haven't prepared for just such an occurrence, you shouldn't be in public office. It doesn't take much of an imagination to know that this can happen anywhere at any time.

I will probably never face a home invasion at my house...but if I do and I am not prepared...that's on me. You can bet I won't be saying afterwards that I never imagined it could happen to me. May not have a chance to say anything at all afterwards...even if I made preparations.

I pray for peace...I prepare otherwise.

Enough seriousness. I'm losing these pants and bunking out.

Just pretend this is hwitty.

Your wife has good friends Paul.

I've always thought it was peculiar that here in Indiana
we have seatbelt laws, but if you ride a motorcycle no
helmet is required .... Strange stuff.

I haven't seen lightening bugs in years. One of the many small things I miss living in the desert. Of course I don't miss the ticks, chiggers, "sand flies" and a horde of other little creepy crawlies and stingers.

When I was a kid in Tennessee, right after the War Of 1812, we saw hundreds of lightning bugs at night. Now, here in Kentucky where they also used to be very plentiful, I may see ten or eleven to an acre.

The only reason I can come up with is the use of lawn pesticides.
