British contract 2nd Model HE with d&t - need help!

I think it's safe to say that we would ALL like to see that letter.

I saw the letter today. It's dated to June of 2003.
Sadly there is no mention of a drilled and tapped topstrap. I'm not sure how they knew about it being converted to 45 ACP unless the previous owner sent in pictures. The barrel is stamped 45 A followed by what looks to be an offset P. Farley well done except for the P.
I've included an edited excerpt for your viewing pleasure. I've edited the S/N to protect my relative's privacy. But it will be on GB soon in all it's glory I'm sure.

It has been standard procedure to send pictures (if available) with a letter request. Pictures can make things clear much better than just a serial number and description (which are sometimes poorly done or erroneous). In this case, almost any photo will show the large gap between the rear of the cylinder and the recoil shield, which is a dead giveaway that the gun has been rechambered for .45ACP/AR.

That "P" is a badly stamped "R", for .45AR or .45 Auto Rim. .45AR has an extra thick rim that does away with the need for clips for headspacing, and extends beyond the case body for ejection. It is also loaded in factory form to slightly lower pressure than .45ACP, more in line with the original .455 loading, and so is recommended for these converted guns.

Copy that. I was wondering if that P wasn't actually an R. I was thinking Auto Rim.
We'll see what happens......

Thanks guys.

Doesn’t the old saying go “any functional N frame is worth $500”?

I wouldn’t give ya $500 for it but someone might.

I like that saying.
Unfortunately he paid too much for it. I got a glimpse of the auction paperwork. But he didn't pay way too much so hopefully he won't lose much. We'll see.
I got a couple cheap pistols posted for him yesterday and maybe he'll let me do some more today. There's a pristine TC Contender that I'd like if I had the $$.
