I completely agree. It won't last forever. It might take a little while though. I read this morning in January gunsales were up more than 80% from January last year. There were 2.2 million guns sold last month. The only time this % was higher was early in Obama's second term.
The panic isn't over.
I stopped in one of the local gun shops today. They had some Accurate powders I'd been wanting to try. Prices were about what I'd pay if I bought it and paid hazmat and shipping on 3 pounds. When I was waiting to pay, a guy walked in to get some 9mm. Surprise, they had some. It was just range ammo that was $8-9/50 a year ago. The guy bought 4 boxes at $47 a box and turned to me and said, "Got to take care of the house." I'm sure he was meaning protect the family. The dealer told him he had 3000 more rounds coming in.
It's going to be a while but it will end and prices like before will return to a much more moderate level.

It's a social mixture of meditation, long-range target practice with open sights, and hiking. And for me, it's very convenient, three minutes from my home, and run by a nice bunch of guys.
It's amazing how polite everyone can be when the presumption is everyone else is armed...
Good point, however, I think it is just a different class of people.
I'm gonna sell some excess ammo at the local gun show this weekend. Spent a hour or so this morning checking prices on Ammo Seek. I was going to price my stuff way too low . . .

Plus I think it's ok to drink beer while golfing! Man I do miss me some golf ..... except now we have a foot of fresh snow. [emoji22]

Try to buy any primers recently?
Whether you reload or shoot factory you still need to stockpile to avoid shortages. Reloading makes stockpiling less expensive but you still need to plan ahead.
Around here all the guys in the lines at Sportsman's Warehouse are buying to resell at the next gun show... Most are retired and have nothing else to do I guess... I have even seen some selling it in the SW parking lot with a poster board sign propped up against their car.

You would be kicked off the course for those kind of shenanigans. at least you should be.
I grew up playing golf. My dad wasn't a hunter or shooter, he did some, but wasn't a hobby. Played golf regularly until after I got out of college and got hooked on shooting guns instead. Shooting/reloading/hunting has become my primary hobbies. Didn't like paying what it cost to play a round of golf either. However, with the increases in the cost of shooting, I am considering getting back into golf....

Yes-About a week ago I was running errands and Sportsman's Warehouse was along the way. Decided to stop in and check for ammo about 11:30 am. Got back to the ammo section and none on shelves. I saw a couple of nice young clean cut guys in their twenties and each had two boxes of pistol ammo in their hands. Asked where did you get that and what caliber? One pointed to the empty shelf and said you just missed it by 5 minutes there was a bunch on the shelves of 9MM.
Then the young man held out one box he was holding and said here take it. I thanked him for the offer but didn't take it. Have about 400 rounds at home. What I was looking for was .38 special.
Reinforced that many young people are still good kids and were taught to share by their parents!
They are now made of unobtanium.

Around here, it's pretty much a given.
I was a Boy Scout and a 3rd gen Fla native. You didn't wait for the storm flags to fly to do hurricane preps, but in the dry(ish), season, well before June rolled around.
Same thing with guns and ammo,especially ammo. Pretty much the only ammo I've bought in close to 20 years has been some .38 Spec in 2019 when I finally bought a revolver. Been a 1911 guy since age 13.
This will pass, but don't think for a minute it won't happen again.
