Dick's Sporting Goods in trouble

Working at Dicks is a basic entry level job of which we have in abundance right now. The unemployment level is at it's lowest in years.
In a capitalistic society, some other business will pick up the market hole left by Dicks and hopefully be smart enough to do it correctly, not PC orientated.

Hoping for the demise of a business that feeds American families is a third . . .

True. But they started it.

I’ve worked customer service for the last 30 years. My first concern is they are taken care of properly. My political beliefs have no bearing on how I do my job nor is it our company policy to do so.

EXACTLY!

Capitalism isn't a zero-sum game. If Dicks goes out of business, another company will gain that business and they will employ people. It isn't like us gun guys will do without just because we can't buy something from Dicks. Does anyone really think that when Dicks closes some foreign company is going to move in and take their place?

That is as much of a fallacy as believing that in order to get rich one has to make others poorer. It isn't a case of there being only one "pie" to divide up. Human activity is what CREATES wealth so one person getting more doesn't mean everyone else has to get less. It doesn't have to work that way - instead, we just make another pie.

Another store will fill the gap left by Dicks going out of business. Just like other stores are selling the ammo and guns that Dicks refuses to sell, and the more business they do the more people those stores will hire.

Let's see, I buy my Under Armor from UA, my jeans from Bean or Old Navy, Coats from Filson, and Footwear from Red Wing or New Balance, Revolvers on this forum, and fishing stuff from my local B&T store.

Not sure why I would ever go to Dick's

For what it's worth L.L Bean pulled black rifles off the shelves after Parkland just like Dick's. Gave them the boot too...no pun intended.

I have only been in Dick’s once, I was looking at gun safes, I was unimpressed with the selection and the service. Thankfully we have a Scheel’s within a stones throw of Dick’s. personally I prefer stores wher you don’t have to lean over a counter to read the tags on the long guns and much prefer stores that carry used guns.

To Heck with Dicks....

.....sooo...Dicks is where I go to get my Colin Kaepernick endorsed Nike whatever???....ye man that will happen

It's really not, for me. about Dick's taking guns out of its inventory.

It's about them hiring the three lobbyists from the Glover Park Group in DC to lobby for more gun control.

I didn't like them before, but I despise them now.

Bob
