Do you carry more than one gun frequently?

I'm curious how many here carry more than one gun most of the time.

I'm particularly interested in ordinary citizens (not LEOs) who are not expected to stop crimes which don't directly threaten them or their loved ones.

I'm 65 and up until six months ago, never had a carry license and never carried a concealed gun -- or open carried either other than very infrequent hunting situations.

So for me, carrying one gun is a big step forward in terms of preparedness.

Obviously LEO comments are also welcome.

I generally do when traveling, because more of the places I could end up are less familiar than my usual environment. I also have a spare accessible in the car from a specific place to address the difficulties associated with some modes of carry. I of course avoid any place I think I need to be armed, because it is no longer my duty to look for trouble; I'm armed because one cannot make an appointment for an emergency nor expect someone else to solve one's problems. I carry a phone and other safety gear too, but the phone is for addressing the aftermath, not addressing the problem.

90% one gun. Have another carry gun that gets carried much less frequently. But, the infrequent gun is frequently close at hand.

Like Doug, I too keep a second gun in a specific location in my car. But normally I carry only one and a spare magazine of course.

If my instincts tell me to put that second one in my pocket, I don't question it, but again, that's the exception - not the rule.

Generally speaking, one is enough for me.

Off duty I carry one, but if I ever decide to carry two it's only because I couldn't decide on which to bring and not because I anticipate being attacked by mall ninjas. On duty I tried carrying a BUG a few times but didn't like ankle carry and at that time there weren't many other options.

Like Big D, been carrying one just about everyday for over 30 years and never had the need for a second.

Non-sworn for quite a while. However I never know who I might run into so:

One on my person

One in easy reach when driving (often a second located for the passenger)

One Thunderstick in the back with ammo for everything

Just one for me. Occasionally I carry a second mag depending on the gun. I have carried 2 guns before but that was because I was carrying one already and happened to be at a gun store and spotted a good deal on another. Buying it and not wanting to leave it in the far while I was out I carried it

If I do carry more than one it's more because I'm going out in the winter and my main gun is buried under my winter clothes.

Never.

Have never carried more than one handgun and likely never will. Have carried almost every single day for almost forty years and have never had the need for a second handgun.

Have never had a fail to fire, non-intentional misfire, or mechanical malfunction which rendered my gun inoperable.

I usually carry two.
I live in a city that has had a spate of shootings recently. I also pay attention to the news, and I truly believe we are going to suffer another terrorist attack. I am not paranoid, I'm careful.
I carry either a Glock 23 or an S&W K, L or N-Frame revolver as primary. My M340PD lives constantly in my non-dominant (left) side pocket. That thing is so light I literally forget it's there.
I have carried three, Last time I had a Bodyguard assignment for a presidential candidate during the Iowa Caucuses. Carried two Glocks and the M340PD.

95% of the time i have a 2nd. hold over from past experiences. never know... may need to arm someone else. my wife never carries when she's with me. multiple shooters is a BIG possibility these days. i would rather be prepared then caught un-able to solve the problem. call me crazy, but i will continue to carry 2.

It's not so much "carry" as it is "have readily available." Always more than one close by.

If I carry two, its only because of the ammo capacity of each. If my primary is a wheel gun, then I also slip my LCP into a pocket (along with a speed loader and spare mag for the LCP).

It's more about the "New York Reload" scenario for me in that respect. If I'm carrying an auto that holds 10 or more without a reload, I run with just one gun and the spare mag.

The only time I carried two was in-country, (M-16, 1911). Should society descend to the point where I figure I need two, that will be my battery again.

Retired from law enforcement 20 years ago this month.

Daily carry is one pistol, one spare magazine. In the truck is a second pistol and additional magazines.

Most of the time I'm at work, which means maximum discretion needed. One gun, IWB appendix in a low riding holster.

Any other time, I'll carry two when I can. In jacket weather it's a breeze. I'll have my main carry either IWB or OWB, but will carry my 642 in the jacket pocket where I can acquire it instantaneously. Or, pants permitting, a .380 in a pocket holster.

I routinely carry one and have one either in my laptop bag (which is with me most of the time) or in my car. Spare mags or speed loaders for each are at hand.
