Do you have OCD?

I used to work with a guy that had OCD. When the group went out to lunch together he would even announce that he would only eat one thing on his plate at a time. He really struggled with alphabet soup.

If he really had OCD, he would eat the noodles in alphabetic order... :p

Years ago I was accused of being OCD because I washed dishes after every meal. No dishwasher in the house bar me...

Growing up, we didn't have a dishwasher so we washed dishes after every meal. We've always had a dishwasher during our 35 years of married life, but I still wash the dishes with soap and water before I put them in the dishwasher. (My wife is disabled, and can't stand at the sink.) My wife teases me and says I should just rinse and dry them, but I can't stand to put dishes with food on them into the dishwasher. I think of the dishwasher as a second wash, rinse, and dry machine.

I have to admit to being the neat freak in our household also. I have been known to get up in the middle of the night and take dishes out of the dishwasher (after the wife loaded it and went to bed), wipe the foodcrud off of them, reload it, and crank it up at full speed again. Believe me, when I'm done the dishes look great!

Not only that , you should see my brass when I take it out of the tumbler. Almost blinding.

Sure glad I'm not OCD like you guys tho'.

I turn off all lights if no one is in the room when I go by. Wife and kid's call me the "light police".......they've never noticed there is an off position on light switches. If it wasn't for me ALL lights in our house would be on 24/7. Don't know if that's OCD or just being frugal. :D

Before I go to sleep, I check that the side door is locked, even though I know I locked it when I came in the house.
In my house, all the screws on the light switches and outlet cover plates are arranged so that slot is pointing straight up, floor to ceiling. Even the cover plate for the water stopper thing in the bath tub is pointed floor to ceiling. Same goes for all the screws on the door knobs, dead bolts, and ducts work cover plates.Anything that has a phillips screw, is arranged to appear as if it was a plus " + " sign.
If I had a gun safe, the combination dial would be reset to have the numeral zero aligned with the mark after I locked it.

Now, that's some serious OCD!

I used to get frustrated because I couldn't get my grip screws on my 1911s aligned the same. Finally, I just replaced them with Allen head grip screws, and all was right with the world again.

Me, OCD? Certainly not. Certainly not. Certainly not. Definitely not. Certainly not. Certainly not.

The fact that I washed my hands three times while writing this means nothing. :D

Actually I think I do have a touch of it, acquired during eighteen years of living alone since my wife died. Or maybe it's just that old guys take comfort in routine.

My little dog is showing signs of it as he ages--he's got routines for all kinds of things.

Somebody once said that an orderly desk was the sign of a sick mind.:D

If that is the case what does an EMPTY desk indicate?

I have no worries about OCD, my buddy and I share the same. He has a three car garage and I have a two....NEITHER garage has ever seen a car.

Jeez - that's wimping out - grip screw orientation is the ultimate OCD test - Allen heads - well, that's just skating by.

I'm looking for round head grip screws with round grip area - no way to tell the orientation - you would need a special tool to grip the screw and twist. Then you have the cool diameter factor. My thinking is that a smallish one would really be desirable - and cost a lot more, i.e. much more desirable,

Thinking that I need to create a database of grip screw orientation :D:D

My wife says I have it and it is on my license plate so I must have it.
