If saying I'm not going to engage and respond is considered engaging and responding, then there's no hope at all..
If it can be read, it's a response.
That response may be passive in nature but it is no less a response.
I would categorize it as a passive engagement.
Ghandi was a master of this type of engagement.
You need a solid moral foothold, solid facts to put forefront, and a good handful of truth as an ace in the hole for it to work.
Here's what we have.
A cop shot a young man, claiming there was a struggle for the officers sidearm.
The officer has injuries to give that claim legs.
The community is flipping out.
This list may grow some, but historically, this is all we will be given.
If this is all we have to squabble about, it's not really worth the damage to our reputations.
About the only thing worth fighting for here is the security and survival of Ferguson, and it's residents.
If we are not there, it's out of our hands. Why take flack?
