"There are lies, damn lies, and statistics."

The USA is by far the highest gun ownership rate in the world with something like 88 guns per 100 citizens, but the USA is 28th in the word in gun homicides.

Anti gun people say we should be more like Great Britain, but GB has over four times the rate of violent crime compared with the USA. Also going back over 100 years to when GB had no restrictions on private gun ownership the murder rate then was comparable to what it is today. The USA's has declined slightly.

I "liked" Bravo Company on Facebook and recently they are putting out a lot of information about people who use guns for defense.

One of the problems is the average "I don't really care" individual in our country will hear false statistics or information from either the media or a pro gun control sound-bite and believe it to be true. This false truth will then be basis for a "fix" by legislatures who say the problem is now gone based on the laws they have enacted. The true problem is they really didn't understand the problem at all.

The below YouTube video has links to the actual crime statistics and is quite enlightening. Take 6 minutes and watch it. It shows how crimes in the USA have fallen over the last 10 year, due in large part to the explosion of CCW availability. However, violent crimes in England are maintaining over 3 times higher than here in the USA.
