I don't like the cutesy words, Remmy, Winny, and such. It's like a grown man calling his Mother "mommie". Not to be confused with "Daddy" which is perfectly acceptable. "Zombie" has to be my pet peeve. Anything related to fiction. I don't mind terms like weapons system, or platform, when used correctly, referring to a group of firearms built on a common system, like the Armalites, the HKs, ARs, and all the rest. MSR doesn't bother me either, since it is pretty factual, compared to assault rifle, and sounds way more intelligent than "black rifle". The term "gun culture", to me, is derogatory and is meant to lump people like us, with criminals and gangs. Gun nut is just like racial slurs, as it can be used between us, but not by those who use it as a slur. Control, registration, and ban, are my least favorite terms of all.

I just ignore the 9,000 or so of the words or terms mentioned here. It does help, usually with the first sentence, to identify a person that knows what he/she is talking about, or knows hardly anything about everything.

Amen to that! My one and only pet peeve. I've blasted people here before for using that phrase. All the rest, meh, they don't really bother me that much.

"Tube" or "pipe" used instead of "barrel". "Princely sum" used (for the millionth time) to describe the price paid for a gun back in the old days.

Guys trying to sound like Yosemite Sam or Festus from Gunsmoke when they are writing a post.

I know a lady here who uses that term--military grade weapons--who feels that common folk like you and I, shouldnt be allowed to own any. She claims to fully support the Constitution, and the 2nd, but says we should be very limited on what we cn own. With great pleasure, I enjoyed shooting holes through her argument.

I use "wheel gun" too, and dont care what someone thinks. As a mattter of fact--I trained my girlfriend Sabrina, a mutual friend Caitlin and will be training another mutual friend-Natasha, come Sunday. All these ladies were and are being trained on my 4 "Wheel guns."

Run on sentence and I dont care.

Luckily around here-mostly all I hear is Mossy and annoying "cute" references to certain guns. I cant stand Winney either. Ive never heard of those referring to picking boogers etc-before.
