Gas Checks..... u ask???? Yup![]()
Do you resize to accommodate the added layer of the coating.
I think over the weekend I am going to use some of the alloy and give it a go I have some plain black pc industrial grade. I am kinda pumped to see how they shoot
The results are in I set up the chrono had the target @ 15 yards. I decided for proof of concept I would just go for broke. for the 357mag I used 125gr RF and it hit 1990 with 22.2 gr of 300-MP accuracy was spot on grouping of 1 in to 1.5in with no leading. Now I have to say I am impressed with the results wow. As for the 45 I used a 200gr TC and hit 1146 with 8.7gr of BE-86 and again same grouping with accuracy and no leading. The only thing I regret was not having a video cam recording the test. But for the next test I will definitely have a camera going. And as am going to test the rifle loads I think I am going to test some of the more popular pistol calibers again. So there it is thoughts comments
IME, they all worked amazingly well, some better than others but nothing sucked.
Im curious to see if you can break past 2700 with accuracy![]()
yes you can break past 2700 with accuracy, im shooting em outta of a old stevens at 100 yards 4 shot groups under an inch![]()

PS. I wonder what Babbitt metal with a high lead content would act as a bullet?
That is the same mix of alloy I tried over the weekend with coated 357 and they worked great with no leading. I didn't use lube or any checks, I was able to recover one of them and the coating had held up much like a jacked round. I think that the babbit mix resembles #2 in a lot of ways. the batch that I tested had a BHN of 16
I am planning on it but the problem I am having is figuring out how I am going to capture the bullet. Since this is going to be a task with an 06. Honestly I wouldn't be worried about if I hadn't see the results from the 357 now I just gota know. Any ideas
Yea or we would end up draining it for them alright
