Leaving Walmart parking lot yesterday, I saw a man and his wife heading to the store. He had a pistol on his hip. He had a tee shirt tucked BEHIND it (could have covered it).

I pulled up beside him and said, "Thank you. I wish I had the guts to do it."

He said, "As long as it's legal, I'm doin' it."

Do y'all see people open carrying?

I have seen it...in Walmart of course. Also, had A family show up at church one Sunday and the dad was open carrying. The next week he was concealed carrying. Not sure if anyone said anything to him or not.

See it almost everyday; Home Depot, Walmart, Tru-Value hardware, Cracker Barrel…and at my dentist. I would venture an estimate that for every one Open Carrying, there are 10 carrying concealed, me included. One that comes to mind is a 20 something young lady with a pink holster that held a 1911 in Condition 1 with two small kids in tow. It’s very common in rural Arizona.

Yes, I have seen it in stores, restaurants etc here in CO. I am also head of security for our church. Last week and again today, a fellow showed up open carrying which we have not had to deal with until now at our church. I had a discussion with one of my other security team members who is also an x- Le. I approached the individual after church and asked to speak with him. I just advised him that we have a security team that is trained and insured by the church. I told him that if anything were to happen and he pulls his weapon out, he is not covered by our insurance and that he might consider just letting our team handle it. I was respectful of his wanting to open carry but told him that I was not a fan and why.

Several years ago there was a lot of push in Ohio and news overage about open carry and I saw quite a few folks open carrying. I haven't seen anyone open carrying here in the past several years.
The last bunch of open carry rallies and protests here locally occurred during one of the election cycles. At the time I was running a gun shop in a strip mall. At the same time the local Republican party took occupancy of one of the empty storefronts across the parking lot from our store. Being as we shared a parking lot, there were always people coming and going carrying firearms, a few were open carrying handguns but some were just transporting longguns to/from their vehicles. Apparently a couple of older ladies that were volunteering at the Republican party office called the local police to complain that they felt threatened and unsafe with all the armed people walking around in the parking lot. The local PD officers showed up (I had known/worked with these officers for years), talked to the complainants, talked to a couple guys in the parking lot and then came over to talk to us and to get coffee, use the facilities. The officers were very cool, not getting excited as there was nothing wrong going on, but they had to respond to the complaint.
The next day the head of the Republican party office showed up at our shop, apologizing all over himself for the volunteers calling the police on our customers. He also made it a point to let us know that those volunteers would not be coming back to this storefront office.

Never here yet. Was at Wally World yesterday, and a very popular Falls Park downtown this afternoon, people watching. Nothing visible.

Two fancy looking 1911s on an even fancier belt and L&R OWB leather holsters. This was a middle aged man grocery shopping in a Hannaford Food store in Plymouth NH a couple years ago.
