Ok, I'll bite. I don't know. I will have to be in that situation to see what I will do. Problem is, if you give it up, they may shoot you anyway.

However, I hope to never be put in that situation, I conceal mine and hopefully those perps won't know I am carrying to start with.

Not all activities and actions that are legal...........

........are necessarily safe. Open carry is, by interpretation of the last AG, legal and bicycles by the traffic code are legally allowed to ride in traffic lanes.

Being legal does not keep you from being dead.

It is legal in KS, I have seen it several times. It is my opinion that open carry should be reserved for peace officers displaying a badge, but the law is different. We have great gun laws in KS, but I disagree with that part of it. I never carry openly unless displaying a badge, I did it for 30 years.

Can we get bigger sticks next time?

small dead horse gif balck and white 2.gif

Seriously, next time we need bigger sticks.

This is always what I say about riding my motorcycle. I yield right of way to all other vehicles. I scan every intersection before going under the green light. Regardless of whether I have the right of way, if another vehicle breaks the law...I lose.

I open carry on my 33 acre property but cc in town. My thoughts are you want to look like a sheeple until you have to prove otherwise. Plus I’m old and need every edge I can get.

I do open carry on my .4 acres if I have it on the hip instead of pocket. Don't worry about it. In public, I cover with vest or loose shirt.

Back in 2000 I visited with friends in Missouri. At that time they didn't have concealed carry, but open carry was legal. So I open carried while I was there. Nobody said a word. Not even a cop I stood in a check out line with. But, believe me I could feel the hard eyeball on me everywhere I went. Made me down right uncomfortable. I'll never do it again.

Kansas State Constitution.

4. Individual right to bear arms; armies. A person has the right to keep and bear arms for the defense of self, family, home and state, for lawful hunting and recreational use, and for any other lawful purpose; but standing armies, in time of peace, are dangerous to liberty, and shall not be tolerated, and the military shall be in strict subordination to the civil power.

I'm glad the State of Kansas disagrees with you.

The OC people can't answer the same?

I can’t give a detailed answer without knowing more facts in the improbable fantasy scenario. Only answer is I will give is I will choose the best course of action that will get me out of it alive and hopefully unharmed as a bonus.

What's your thought, right now, about the standing army?

I saw it a local restaurant. It was an older couple. I walked up to him and told him that I liked his "carry". He smiled and we talked about this pistol. I don't have any problems with OC. In this time, I am glad to see that he is taking the protection of his wife and him seriously. OORAH!

I don't usually OC myself but when I'm out and see someone carrying, I appreciate it. As a fellow citizen in the same vicinity as an OCer it helps me in a couple of ways, It lets me know who else around me may be armed, and it takes attention off of me if a bad guy notices someone else carrying, it may even persuade the bad guy to move on.
So I say, please open carry around me, and occasionally I'll return the favor.

You know, for somebody who stated that they have no interest in the opinion of a retired career security guard you sure do seem to seek out my opinion quite a bit.

This, right here is one of the primary reasons I do not open carry. If I'm sitting in a restaurant with my wife I don't want some random stranger walking up to me and engaging me in conversation.

There is a member here who has stated on a couple of occasions that that if he notices somebody out and about open carrying or wearing the Tactical tuxedo he will make a point of seeking them out and giving them a ration for it. I don't need that kind of drama in my life.

I open carry when I hunt. H&R 904 22lr in a hip holster when small game hunting and my Sauer & Sohn single action 45lc in a cross draw, chest holster when deer hunting. Concealed carry at all other times.

Tombstone City Ordinance Number 9 Section 1
April 18 1881

1. It is hereby declared unlawful for any person to carry deadly weapons, concealed or otherwise (except the same be carried openly in sight, and in the hand) within the limits of the City of Tombstone.

Apparently this didn't ban carrying weapons in town but the only legal way to carry them was in your hand openly.
