I recently acquired a very attractive 5906 to compliment my 915, which is similar to comparing a Cadillac to a Chevy, but hey, my slightly customized 915 has always gone bang for me when it was supposed to, and never when it wasn't. That's really all that matters, right?
I've been involved with firearms, shooting, and handloading for a number of years, so I think I'm qualified to state that the 3rd generation S&W pistols can still hold their own against any make and model defensive pistol currently available.
I hope to increase my knowledge database by perusing the board. And, whenever I can, I'll try to make some useful contributions to help other members as well.
BTW, I harbor no prejudice against polymer pistols. My current carry pistols are an FNP-9, and a PF-9... I'm getting older, but my mind hasn't closed all the way, and hopefully it never will.
