My wife went shopping today and when done, stopped by at one of the local Mc Donald's, for a ice cream cone.

The cars were backed up big time, so she went inside, where the person took her order.

After waiting several minutes, she was called to the counter.

The person smiled and told her that they did not have ice cream, today.

Nuff said.

I had read an article where someone had ordered a Big Mac and two apple pies (Apparently they were promoting the apple pies)
order paid for, the customer advances to the second window where staff panic ensued ... lo and behold, the item actively being promoted was out of inventory.
The customer then simply requested a refund for the pies.
Seems simple enough and the correct course.
15 minutes later, with manager involvement, a cash refund, $0.78 short, was given.
I guess it wouldn't have been an article worth publishing on any medium had they gotten it right.

Now the icecream thing is nothing new. Its so pronounced an issue that there is, or was a controversial site that kept track of working MCD icecream machines.

This has nothing to do with intellect. As Mary pointed out the machines are complex devices and the cooks and counter people are not required nor are they really capable of repairing them. That is the job of McDonald's traveling maintenance personnel.

Ruthie loves the McFlurry. Before she orders she goes online to the Vegas betting houses to see what the odds of her getting one are.

The McDonald's closet to my home uses almost exclusively, immigrant adult help! If they speak passable English, they are very good at getting the order correct and counting exact change!

There seem to be no teenagers from our community that are capable or willing to do these feats! The Wendy's across the expressway imports American Teens from about 15 miles away (the inner city). They also are polite but can't count or get an order correct!

The Burger King across the street from the Wendy's, has shortened drive through only hours. They can't get inner city youth or immigrant help. I am expecting them to board up the store soon!

At Giant Eagle near me the cashiers bag the groceries. At Kroger across the expressway, they have developmentally disabled youth and young adults bagging the groceries! You get through the line quicker at Kroger, but if you ask for paper bags you may cause a panic attack! My normal purchases will fit in 2 paper sacks, or 15 plastic bags as either store does it!

I'm just glad they have people to work in them at all.

While back our KFC was shut down for a couple weeks, because they couldn't get anyone to come to work.

Local Wendy's was drive thru only for a while. Only effected me when I'd stop while out on my bike to grab something to take home and eat.

Mistakes may be made, but at least we can usually get something to eat.

Lately I've had MacDonalds coffee and the Apple Pie without fail.
A while back I had a misfire on my charges and wound up with an over rebate.
These folks are dancing as fast as they can!
We live in a Dark time and we need to be considerate and cut people more slack than before.

BROKEN ICECREAM MACHINE

If I want ice cream or a milk shake, I go to a nearby ice cream shop and get a hand scooped cone or a shake that is also hand scooped, milk added and then spun in a blender with the long blades in a steel cup. Not some extruded slurry from a machine.
More expensive ? Yes, but its the real deal, no an iced milk concoction. I can take a super ripe banana order a vanilla shake and they chunk up the banana, mix it and have a real banana shake!:)

I have an experiment for all. Go to McDs. and buy 1 reg. cheeseburger. Take it home, un-wrap it and put it on a paper plate on top of the fridge. It will not mold, it will not rot, it is not food. Mine was placed up there in mid Nov. of 2021. It is like a hockey puck. No smell, Soylent M. Will NEVER eat anything from there again. But yes, most of the "workers" are clueless.

I am not willing to make fun of people willing to work . . .

No, not experimenting. There's so many better.
