With the snow gone all the stuff in the yard I'll have to clean up is uncovered (as soon as the yard isn't a lake anymore).

The first mockingbird enthusiastically practicing its entire vocabulary..... yep that's a sure sign of spring...

The problem is they often do it in the middle of the night...and the Robins start singing at 4:30 or 5:00 am. This is all really annoying when you have your bedroom window open and are trying to sleep.

Ah the beginning of spring! Now when I go outside I can shed one of my 3 layers of clothing.

Due to the nasty/cold winds you got to dress in layers, thats about the only thing the TV weather forecasters tell you that they get right!

Darwin award winning ice fishermen start dropping through the ice.

Round here it is pick ups and SUV's with idiots running around the desert with gun barrels sticking out the windows to shoot whistle pigs.
It is a rite of spring. Wished I had the money spent on 22 & 17 HMR shells they sell around here from March to June.
I go too, but don't road hunt and keep my activity to private land so I don't have to listen to little projectiles go whizzing past.
Saw two trucks out cruisin for pigs Sunday.

When the 'good ole boys' start writing poetry; such as:

Usually in this area, the sun shines, the tulips and crocus begin to break the surface of the soil.

Then we have a snow storm killing the above mentioned, it's Spring.
