As many of you know, our little 14-year old border collie, Patsy, passed away three months ago. She went with me and the pack string on every pack trip since she was six months old.
After she died, I honestly never thought I'd get another dog, but my wife, our kids, and many of you fine folks here on the Forum gave me good advice...and that was to eventually open my heart up to another canine companion.
I looked at a few puppies during the last couple of months, but nothing clicked. I kept saying to myself that there was just not another dog out there for me.
Well, I was wrong. Saw a litter of border collie puppies a little while ago. I don't think I really picked any one of them...but this one picked me. She was still too young to leave Mama at the time, but we were able to pick her up today.
I think we're going to call her "Suzy," but we'll see how it goes for the next few days.
Thanks, folks, for your counsel and advice. I think this just might work out.
