If you could have only one powder...

Ill go for unique also
up until a couple years ago I used 231 exclusively but when It was un available a Lgs owner suggested unique and was able to help me out with 2lbs of it I have seemed to use it now in all my 44 special and magnum loads I have yet to try it in .38spl or 357.

If only one, Unique. If I could have two, Unique & 2400.

Count me in for Unique. I load everything from .38 Special to .45ACP with Unique. Even though I use Unique for my mid power .44 mag loads I do like 2400 for the full house loads. Mike

I'm a W231 guy too.. for all my handgun rounds 9mm to 45LC. I have some Unique around somewhere.. may have to give it another shot (no pun intended).

Hmmmm . . . . I'm surprised. I had sort of thought that I was one of the few still using Unique. Seems like in about half the threads somebody talks about how XXX powder "is much cleaner burning" or YYY powder "meters so much better" than Unique.

I use Unique for about 90% of my loads. Bullseye for the other 10%. I could get by without the BE, but I wouldn't really want to. I only load .38sp, .357 mag, and .45 Colt. I will be adding .45ACP.

Red,

Bullseye and the .45 ACP go togeather like Unique and the .38 Special.

I use alot of it doled out 5.0 grains at a time under a cast lead 230 grain slug.

I guess I am not the only Unique one here ;)

It just does SO much 38/357 pinkers to P+, 9mm, 40, 41 target loads, 44 spl, 45 and on and on. Lets not forget I use it in 28 gauge shotgun reloading.

I guess they named it wrong, its not unique at all, its common.

I move to have it renamed Common... :)

If we can have others, Bullseye, Red dot, 2400 with a nod and a wink to Varget and 4895 :)

another vote for unique
good for most things,
great at nothing..
but yet i find myself always using it.
from .38 target to .44 mag.

In handguns; Unique, 231, or one of the "Clays" could be "The One". I rifles; 3031, Varget, or 748. In shotguns Green dot is very wide spread. But for a true "The One" must Black 3F! (Unique won't do in field pieces.)

If limited to one it will be Unique. Power Pistol and Universal could stand in as substitutes for Unique.

I use a lot more W231 and Power Pistol but Unique is a powder I'll never be without.

If I could only have one, then it's Unique. If I can have two then it's Unique and Bullseye and if only three, then Unique, Bullseye and 2400. I've used these three since the 1960's and see no reason to change now. Some things are better left alone.

If I could have only one it would be a good brand of FFFG. If you're talkign smokeless than I'd want either Bullseye, Unique, 231 or Green Dot. Doesn't really matter which because I can find a workable load with any of the four. The last 8lb keg I bought was BE.
