INTERNET SNUBBY MATCH

Cyrano, I usually get to the range before 0830, today was 0815 and quit at 1006. The wife prefers to shoot on 2D so that's where we go if its open. Last week, I had to go to Goodyear,AZ for my grandson's baseball tournament so I missed my Monday range time. I enjoy these matches, a nice change of pace.

Just by chance I shot on 2d also. I got there about 1030 and left about 1230, by which time it was HOT. I'm a late riser, first round down range at 1000 is early for me. Good shooting, incidently, that Model 60 did well by you.

I'm fresh out of snubbies. Sold my last one because I didn't think I would miss it. This thread is adding to my regret. Someone send me a no lock now so I can play too!

Shoot a bigger gun weeks hand. Post pictures s. It's all in fun.

I need we weak hand practice.

David

Well, that was interesting. My first time in this match and the first time in 55 years of bullseye shooting I have ever used my left hand. My Model 15 with Herretts is my favorite snub. 148 DEWC in front of 3.2 gr. N320. Group size is 2.75 x 2. Looking forward to trying out some of my other snubs.

I gave it a shot and thought I would do a little better at such close range. I usually try to shoot a few cylinders or mags off hand when I'm at the range so I thought this would be easy. Wrong!
The S&W 637 Wyatt Deep Cover is what I have been carrying lately so it was a good choice. Even though the action is pretty slick, it is still DAO.

I hope to shoot this challenge a couple more times this month. It was a lot of fun and great practice. :D

Now try it with the sights taped over.:D

Now that's funny, Otreb!

I wanted to try this again and thought I would cheet a little by shooting my 3" SP101 single action. Surprise, surprise. I didn't shoot it any better.

I really like the job the Performance Center did on the action of the 637 Wyatt Deep Cover. Makes up for the guys name plastered all over it.

I was hesitant to post because I shot so well, and last time I played, I won. David, I'm glad to see you outshot me.

Also, I feel like I have an unfair advantage. I'm right handed, but left eye dominant, and I've shot left handed against my wife since we've been married, over 20 years now. (She always insists on a handicap).

So I shot this with the gun I used last time, with a load for one of my .38's. I had 10 rounds left, and decided to use them for this. I exceeded my expectations, actually, with the 1.720" group.

Great target RobertJ.

That 44 was my dads, purchased in 1987 new for $269.00 (maybe 369) He shot bowling pins with that gun, I used a 45 auto or Dan Wesson 357. I just got it the day the target was shot because every day you own a new gun and do not shoot it, its a sin. I had to take all the guns from my parents home... The rest will be sold, this one I keep. Those were the first and only 10 shots fired from that gun so far in a LONG time. It needs a real good cleaning. When I took the goodyear grip off, the strain screw fell out. Last time we shot it, it worked fine. More pics in a minute.

HMMM, I lost the strain screw in my 4" M624 - wonder how common that is?

M36 no dash

Greetings,

Here is my effort from Thursday. I managed a 5-3/4" group, with one tossed out of the group. The remaining 9 went into only three inches, so it appears the practice is really helping! :D

ammo: Federal American Eagle 158 gr LRN
shot SA - I'm still working on my DA skills

PS: please don't laugh at my bare feet - my OOPPSS!!!

Not to crazy about the target, I'll do it different next time. The first two groups I measured and pasted. The third I left for the pic. And not a great one at that. Anyway my third, ten shot group measured 3 15/16".
The snubby I used was the 637 Wyatt Deep Cover and 130g WWB.

Preparing for the Internet Snubby Match, here's my gaggle of snubbies. Now I have to find out which is best at 50 feet, DAO. Hoping to get out to the range, but today it was 103º. Gotta get it done before Ft Bliss starts registration at the R&G Club. Clockwise from the top they are: S&W 638; old S&W Centennial; Colt Banker's Special in 22; S&W 317 in 22 and even older M&P in 38 Spl.

OK, word nerds, what's the proper collective noun for a grouping of snubbies? I used 'gaggle' , but should I have used flock, bevy, pride, sounder or??? Sounder has the sibilants, but I don't think the snubbies are pigs. What say the rest of you?
