When I was in my late teens I worked at a sporting goods store in Sulphur LA. It was called Burton Hardware.

We had every N Frame you can imagine in the presentation cases for a huge sum of $453.50 !!!! I still remember the price!!! I was making $3.35 an hour so it may as well have been 4500.00.

I developed my love for S&W revolvers after hours of dreaming and drooling. One revolver that I couldn't see a need for was the Model 34. Seems like we had tons of them and they didn't sell. Now that I'm older I think they are the coolest little thing and I've lusted after one for years. A buddy told me about this one at a pawn shop in Dequincy LA. It cost more than the N frames I lusted over in the early 80s but it went home with me. Ain't she cute?!!!!

Looks real nice. Does the serial number start with an "M" ?

That serial range puts you between 1973-1977 per the SWSC.
1973-1977 = M60001-M99999

Enjoy the best caliber there is to enjoy IMO.

Super nice...Great story also..

Another to add to my bucket list of firearms.

Cute!Cute!Cute! Saw one at in the Gun Library at Cabelas (CT). Too bad I'd just picked up a 1982 17-4. That could've followed me home.

As a fun gun, you'd have to look long and hard for anything that could even come close to that cute little 34-1. Well done, and I know you'll enjoy it.

Was looking though my drawer with my S&W gun boxes last night and one of the boxes was pretty heavy. Pulled it out opened it up and what do you know- there was my Model 34-1 4" that I thought I'd sold long age. HOO! BABY!

Who says there's no Santa Claus? Sounds to me like he visited your place for sure. Now scrounge up a box or two of 22 ammo and take that poor neglected gun out to the range and give it the attention it deserves! :D

I have a 4" M34 which fills in nicely for a K-frame. Now, if I could get a 2-incher to go with my M49...

OH! That's what I wanted, but there was a near new 34-1 4" at an auction Sat. and it cost me more than I had intended, but it will be mine (soon as the 72 hr waiting period is over). My granddaughters had a ball shooting my Mod 63 at Christmas time, so now I can have them both shooting at the same time.
