The Philips head screw that holds the right safety lever on my 639 keeps coming loose.

Wondering how to fix:

Generous dab of blue Loc-Tite and then screw it down?

Just remove the right safety lever and leave it and the screw in the spares box?

Something else?

I'm assuming I'm not the first with this problem...what's worked before?

The screw I finally used (shown in post #13) was bought from the big orange home improvement store. I think I had to order it from them online. It fit perfectly and cost a lot less than from a typical gun parts supplier.

A little blue or purple Locktite or fingernail polish, just make sure all of the threaded surfaces are clean and free of oil.

Redcoat,
I had the same problem with my 659 and replaced it with the 3rd gen parts and solved the problem!
I tried the loctite and was not satisfied with the longevity.
I realize the 3rd gen parts are in short supply, but well worth the search!
God bless, Eric
