Liquor Store Clerks Shoot Armed Robber (Video)

Given the situation and all of the stress, I thought they did admirably. They kept their head. Notice the daughter on the phone. Then assessing the situation and offering backup for Mom. Well Done Ladies!

Wow.... wow, wow, wow.

Those ladies are lucky to be alive. This is a clear example of why you continue shooting until the threat has stopped. I can perfectly understand the desire or will not to want to kill someone but in this case the women should have kept on firing. The bad guy wrestled the gun from the older lady, at that point the daughter should have just emptied her gun on him. He was trying to kill them.

If the mother was using a snub .38 she was out of ammo, and could not have kept firing without a reload. Which she was not in a position to accomplish. From the lack of muzzle flip I have to wonder what ammo she was firing.

But like others here, I won't second-guess them, only salute them for their courage and willingness to open fire in self-defense.

The remotely locked door only seems to be a good idea if the perp can be caught between two doors with bulletproof glass. Or spotted soon enough to shut him out.

Looks to me that the mother was expecting a one shot stop. She would fire a round then stop to look what happened. It's not in all of us to keep pumping away until the target goes down.

One the things this video shows is that the one-shot stop is a myth. Anyone who still believes this should watch this video over and over again.

Yep, when it comes to handguns, you either disrupt the CNS or create major rapid bleeding.

Also, data has shown that not everyone reacts the same when shot in a non-vital area. Some will quit the fight while others don't even flinch.

A mistake that I don't want to make.....

When the perp was isolated and in front of them, they should have shot either until the threat was stopped or the gun was empty. In this video you can see what is all too real. People don't get shot and fall down. Anybody with sense would be out of there at the first shot. BUT MANY CRIMINALS ARE SENSE-LESS from mindset if not from drugs. Armies have found that sometimes their attackers are so juiced up from getting ready for battle that they don't fall down when shot either.

Edit: I see that I have repeated what others have said, but that's good. We all have the right idea.

What people who have never been in a shooting don't realize is that you experience an Adrenaline rush into your blood stream. This is the classic experience of "Fight or flight".
The effects of the Adrenaline rush is that it alters your audio and visual perception but even more critical is that it's diminishes your fine motor skills which effect your trigger pulls and you end up working off of muscle memory thus jerking the trigger.

If you are reverting on muscle memory in critical situations, then proper training is the solution to effective performance. The problem is very few people engage in proper practice. This video is must watch. Pay close attention to what the says at 1:54

Lucky pair of ladies. It is horrifying to look how the perp comes back for more......I wonder what calibers were involved?

This video surely finishes the myth of the magic bullet/caliber....shot placement along with training and cold nerves rule.

The cold hard truth

Position is King, Penetration is Queen, Stopping power is the Joker

Losts of talk about caliber, any caliber in the right place will do.

"Any one you can walk away from was good one!"

So here is my conundrum. I can put 9 .17 HM2s or 9 60 grain .22 LRs into a group I can cover with an Eisenhower Dollar, and I can put 6 .17 HMRs into the same space or 7 .22 WMRs. But I EDC a .38 that I can put 5 shots into a space covered by 125 percent of a hockey puck. If placement is truly king, should I not reconsider, but a 148/150 grain LWC is potent.

Lots of discussion over time in this forum about the effectiveness of different rounds. I think it's interesting that the BG was shot with what, 3 or 4 .38 special rounds and 1 .380 round, all at close range and kept on fighting.

One more good reason(and maybe the best reason) to carry a .45!

If only one of the rounds you mention hits the right place then the fight is stopped, so I guess....

+1 on the replies noting the proper course would be to empty the guns into BG. Then if he keeps coming, hit him over the head with a half gallon of the cheap stuff (don't waste jameson on the prick). I wonder how many school shooters there would be if each school had a couple dozen staff members like these two ladies?

But that would be "escalating the violence".

You're just supposed to die meekly to maintain the narrative. Besides, what makes your life more valuable than that of a multiple murderer?

I think I have the script memorized...
