Lost an found...and the beat goes on...

Have a divided top drawer, left side contains 5 pocket knives, keys and wallet. The right side my EDC and a pocket and IWB holster.
Every day everything goes back where it came from, so never an issue, always know right where they are.
Now about that dang cell phone...'honey, would you call my phone'...lol

I need a plan like that. But actually it's too late...way too late. I'm too far down the rabbit hole.

And the thing about the cellphone, Been doing that for years. It's the only reason I usually know where it is.too bad She can't help me with all my other stuff.

If she ever left me my body would be found naked and frozen in my dark and freezing living room with none of my possessions around me.

Gentlemen and Ladies, we do not lose things, there is a person known to us who has passed on yet who resides in our homes, offices, workshops, garages, and other locations which we visit. These persons love to move things about just to keep us confused as to how we are running our lives. In my case is it my mother, who has always been a joker. Grandmother sometimes joins her and between the two of them have sometimes made my life pure 'ell. As an example, the clip-on sunglasses I use cost $13.00 and I have several of them. Why do I have several of them? Because when I would set a pair down knowing exactly where I set them, when I go back to pick them up for use, they are not to be found. Now instead of spending a lot of time looking for them I just grab another pair and go on my way. I'm sure it frustrates my mother no end that I don't waste time but really when I need them, I need them now, not two hours from now. Grandmother has hidden guns, knives and even an axe from me a time or two. I always find them but never where I left them. In the case of the axe, I set it deep into my chopping block and went inside to use the facility. When i came back out to chop more wood it was gone. Two days later I found it in the rack where it belongs. I know I didn't put it there, so there is no other explanation, other than grandmother moved it. It is a double bitted axe and I suppose she figured someone might fall and hurt themselves on the upended blade. Plenty of other examples exist.

Losing stuff is not a problem. If you later find them in the freezer….. you might have a problem.

We keep peanut butter setting on the bar in the kitchen but a few weeks ago it was found in the refrigerator. I assume I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and just put both in the refrigerator when I finished. My wife got a good laugh out of it. My thought is everybody had to be some where doing something and I'm here doing something stupid. :D Larry

Yep, my wife fussed at me last night for losing her favorite screwdriver!! She keeps a flat tip screwdriver in my top bathroom drawer. She went to use it and shazam it is not there!!
I did use it at Christmas and swore I put it back. Only problem is she is in Texas and I am in Seattle. So I bit my tongue and did not suggest she find another screwdriver or go buy one!!

When we moved to our new home, I put an antique pocket watch from my father in a place that I would remember. Wife and I looked for months for the watch but couldn't find it. One day I just happened to look in my hearing aid case, and there was the watch.:o

another time I "lost" a Colt SAA .44 Special. Looked everywhere but couldn't find it. I had put it in a range bag for an upcoming shooting session, but the session was cancelled. I went through the safe numerous times with no luck. One day I decided to check the range bag once more, and pulled everything out of it. At the bottom of the bag was the Colt.

FROM MY OLD POST A FEW YEARS BACK...

One evening around Christmas time, Wifey and I got into a foot stomping argument because I accused her of misplacing the TV remote, AGAIN! We looked everywhere, again and again. No luck. I had my heart set on watching something on the TV (don't remember what though).

I huffed off and drove to a 24 hour Wal Mart and immediately purchased a universal remote. Got home and spent the rest of the night trying to figure out how to program it.

Well, to make a long story short, the following Christmas, Wifey brought down that large Tupperware looking foot locker. You know, the one with all the Christmas present wrapping junk in it. She reached down in that box and low-and-behold, the original TV remote. She also found the missing box of match grade 45's that my bud had loaded for me for a Christmas present.

I didn't have to say a thing. That very rare moment was beautiful!

Back around Father's Day I was putting my bicycling equipment away and decided to put my LCR 38 someplace it would be easy to grab before my next cycle ride. Haven't seen it since!

Ivan

EDIT: I found the LCR in the gun safe buried under a pile of Vaqueros, all in soft gun rugs. Date located 4/20/23

Been there, done that except I misplaced my model 36 for a year!!!!!

Somewhere in this house (I hope) are the sleeves to put 15-round Sig P250 Compact magazines in a subcompact P250 that normally take 12-rounders. I haven't seen them since I moved house in 2016, and in the meantime we bought a Compact P250, so meh. Maybe they are in the same place as my original UK birth certificate that lurks somewhere on the property.

I misplace my iPhone about twice a week. So I use my iPad to find the phone. Have used phone to find iPad. I will be out of luck if I misplace both of them at the same time

I knew I had two spare magazines for a my M1 Carbine. I was going to the range and went looking for them. I went through the spare magazine box I have TWICE! They not were not there. The carbine stayed home as I didn't want to fire it single shot. I looked and looked for them but never found them. I store my ammo is metal GI ammo can which are marked for the caliber in them. I have only one weapon with fires the M1 Carbine ammo and I couldn't find the magazines for the gun, I had no reason to open the can holding the M1 Carbine ammo. After several years of looking and not finding the magazines, I bought two more. I grab the Carbine and the metal box of ammo and head for the range, Opening the box of ammo, I find the two missing M1 Carbine magazines I had spent years looking for!

RE: Forgetfulness

My major problem is my reading glasses. I seem to misplace them several times a day. I usually find them on the thether hanging around my neck.
I can find my phone just about every day when I get a robo call.
I am 3.5 years away from 80, just can't wait.

A while back I was in Nogales, AZ and my Passport was laying in my SUV center console.
What existing town was bisected by the Mexican Border moving? Gadsden Purchase.
Nogales. There's a Nogales, AZ and a Mexican one.
Decided not to cross, toured around and then went back to my motel.
Couldn't find my Passport! Didn't want to leave it in my SUV.
When not using it, I normally store it in my baggage in my room.
Looked everywhere. Did not locate it!
Later back at home I moved one of my Mother's Quilts which was on a small table.
The Passport fell out.
What?
Cannot explain how it got from Nogales to Albuquerque!
