that's exactly what i did, took well over an hour. getting the pin out was more difficult than i thought it would be considering how far it stuck out. measuring and lining everything up was a pain in the *** esp since i used the original hole in the stock and went to the exact depth s&w used for the pin originally with a drill press. i did take my sweet *** time though as i was afraid of totally destroying my lower. next time out when i change the stock out completely it should be faster.

thacheese, I was able to get mine out fairly easily with a screw extractor.
