My gun world sure has changed...

Well, with the panic buying being over for a few years, manufacturers and suppliers are going to have to figure how they can branch out to keep their profit margins near the same as last year.

Either that or start laying off a ton of workers.

Midway's sales flyer is looking more like a Dick's Sporting Goods weekly ad.... and Wilson Combat is selling Glock parts. Sigh....

This surprises you? It shouldn't. It's all about the money. Always has been, although the market hasn't always been this crowded, this competitive, and this cutthroat.

The last I heard the sale of Cabela's to Bass Pro was Off. Does anyone know why and any idea what happens next?
I live 2 miles from Hammond, in. Cabelas. The sale of the chain was off n on a couple times last year. The sale was completed the last quarter of last year. At least the employees think so.

Then they think wrong according to Google. :D

In early February of this year, the Motley Fool reported this. About a week later, Bloomberg reported the deal was salvageable, but I've not read anything since.

I'm waiting for Cabela's to start clearing out AR's. I think they will get down to about 4 hundred this summer. I'm not talking about no name AR's, I'm talking about Smiths and Rugers. Brownells has a sale now on Smiths for four fiddy.

I don't own an AR, but at that price it would be very hard not to own one. It's still a rifle, although a pretty ugly one.

Things change. My first gun show was in St. Petersburg, FL, 60 years ago. Just inside the door was a barrel full of beautiful 1922 FN/Browning pistols for $20. I didn't have $20. Went back five years later with $20 and they were gone. Such is life.

It may be ugly but it sure is fum to play with.

I used to go to every gun show with in driving range. Last few I went to were loaded with plastic, field rations, optics, knives, cheap Chinese ****, that nobody buys. The few guns were priced out of my reach. I sure miss the old days when a gun show meant guns.
What, no jerky?? Gotta find a better class of gun show!

Lately I've been in two LG'S. One in Austin the other in Houston. Both are owner run but have a large client base. My point is there wasn't a wheel gun in the display cases of either store. hardcase60
