Well, after looking at this site (among others) for the past two weeks, I decided to pull the trigger on an M&P C.O.R.E. 9mm today. I went into my LGS and all they had was a 5" 9mm core, 4.25" 40 core, so I went ahead and told him to do the 40 cal 4.25". The guy came back about 5 mins later (He went to get the box for the 40, and had a 4.25" 9mm core. I bought it! I looked around and they had the Burris Fastfire 2, and Trijicon RMR in stock. I noticed the Jpoint and CMORE coupons in the box with the gun, but went ahead an grabbed a fastfire 2 (that's all my budget allowed for. I can't wait to get home and clean and lube, and get the sight on. I am going to see how it looks and feels with the fastfire 2. With the coupon included for the jpoint, I could order it with 2 day shipping and be at the same price I paid for the fastfire 2, so I may end up going that direction, depending on how the fastfire is after mounting. Anyone have any experience with each of these sights? Pros / Cons of each vs each other? I have seen a few posts on here with the fastfire mounted, and a few other sights compare the two with the burris getting the nod for its steel and glass construction over the plastic and whatever construction on the jpoint. Seeing how they are both about the same in price (minimal difference) I want to get whatever is going to be the best. I plan on actually using this as a carry gun for a while, and see how it goes. Primary use will be competitions.

Can't use optics in IDPA, but they're easily enough removed for those events.

I have a 5" 9mm CORE and I bought the JPoint with the coupon. I used standard shipping and got it in 2 days anyway! I am very happy with it although it is a little funky to sight in. I had to have my mind clear when doing it. I am able to use the factory sights right though the JPoint. I also have a Burris FF3 on another gun. It appears to sit higher and may block the iron sights on an M&P. Another peculiarity of the JPoint is that it is always on. No switch. Manual says battery life is one year. We'll see.

I got it cleaned, lubed, and installed the sight. It is pretty nice. It does not have a precise co-witness, but it would be possible to shoot if the reflex goes down by aligning the top of the front blade with the top of the back. I like it, I will try to get to the range this weekend sometime and get her sighted in.

I picked up a 5" CORE in 40 last week. I haven't got an optic yet. I'm still searching. I do want it to cowitness, however. Looking forward to your thoughts on the Burris.

USPSA Steel, sorry, wrong letters.

May be a while before I get an optic. I shoot IDPA most of the time. I just wanted the option down the road (never know how tastes change;)). I also like the length (5) and the faster twist barrel.

I just got a 9L CORE last week, and found elsewhere on this forum that the Burris FastFire does not allow co-witness. Neither does the C-More STS. Just on observation, it also looks like the Insight is also too high.

Trijicon, DeltaPoint, JPoint and Docter are the ones that will provide co-witness.

Dave

Did Docter get bought by Trijicon? I'm having a hard time finding a Docter optic but I keep seeing a Trijicon Docter optic available.

I was told yesterday that Trijicon bought the Doctor series. With the Fastfire, you can not align the white dots, but you can align the top of the front blade with the top of the back sight, so that is good enough for me for now. I am reading more and more good things about the fastfire, and less good things about the jpoint, and I have been reading ALLOT!!

core

i bought a burris for my core and didnt like it it was hard to turn on and off, i sold it and bought a leopold delta point, i love how it perfectly co witnesses and really like how it is motion acticated to come on, its a much higher quality optic

I just found out that the 50% off coupon for the EoTech mRDS expired on 4/15/13. Ticks me off because I had planned to buy it.

I picked up my CORE 40 cal this month (after 3 months regulated firearms paperwork delay here in MD) and I am considering on what sight I want to add. I got most of the coupons from the box prior to them expiring but I didn't decide on any yet.
I like the Burris FF3 which is what I have only got to see at local retailers, but from what I have read and seen here, the height of the sight's frame looks like cowitnessing w/ the fixed sights may be an issue. The iron sights are already tall for a pistol so how high is the FF3 on the frame?

I prefer a green dot so I am going to hold off for now until I can get a reflex site that will fit the C.O.R.E on the market.

I have the CORE 9mm 5" and put on the delta point sight and all I can say is WOW ...lol.. No really it is awesome you will not be disappointed with this one.. Love the triangle dot and comes on with any slight movement and shuts off after five minutes not in use and with a large sight glass you can't miss lol..easy to set up and co witness is a breeze..

Could any one elaborate on the coupons included and their validity if one picks up a new CORE these days?

I understand that Deltapoint are recommended (and S&W uses them in the official images), no surprise really but at more than 50% of the gun price for just the reflex sight, I do wonder if there is an option of going slightly cheaper?

Any Deltapoint coupons included and if yes how long are they currently valid?

Many thanks.

Mine came with coupons for JPoint and C-More, no expiration date and an EOTech coupon which had already expired. This was in June I think. The discounts are about 20-25%. I have the JPoint and like it a lot. Not sure what kind of coupons the current guns are shipping with.

I would like the replace the sites on my CORE but I can't find any that are for it. I want a fiber front and black rear with both lower height that original.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
