Make too much noise about this and Congress will adjust the $200 stamp for inflation. Pay the money and be patient. I remember when I did not buy a S&W 76 machine gun for $250.00 because having to pay $200 for the stamp, and they were slow back them too!

Funny update. Friday/Saturday, LGS had a big shin dig with all the gun reps and big players all set up in the p/lot and big sales inside. i was talking to the SWR guys, and was telling them about the wait and such and i said maybe since they were there my luck would change!
so i got a bunch of swag from all the vendors and went back to work. i had to get up to do some running Saturday and right when i was headed up the street i get a call from the LGS telling me they had some PW for me to p/u.......so i do my running so that the LGS was last since they were farthest away, go in, fight the hoarding crowds, get to my guy and he gives me 2 of the 3 stamps!!!!!!!!!!!!
so i fill out the 4473's, grab my Tucans (get it) and head out the door. get home and 2 perfect break down tubes.....one Huntertown guardian .22 and one .45 Osprey!
the .22 will be a rotating can since i have most on dedicated hosts already, so it will go between a P22 and a MKIII Tacsol. Osprey goes on FN to make it 3 feet long!
anyway, one more 30 cal in the line and that should be next week so things were good at 7 months, 2 weeks.

cool, glad you got good news! isn't that MKIII (Ruger Mark Three, .22, SA (semi auto) pistol) about 2' (foot) long with a can? (Suppressor/silencer)
try to find a good shoulder holster for that thing. I'm looking at the newer 22/45 lite my LGS has, like i really need another .22 auto! but it is nice!

The times have definately slowed down since I got rid of my machine guns. My first NFA transfer was on an Uzi in 2006. It took exactly thirty days from the day I mailed off my Form 4 until I had the gun in my hand. In 2007 I purchased a Thompson on a Form 4. From mailing off the paperwork to gun in hand was exactly thirty-one days.
What I distinctly remember at the time was the old timers talking about how good we had it at the time. They mentioned how it used to take from nine months to a year to get an NFA item approved. I don't think I could have handled such an excessive delay. Apparently the long delays have returned.

But caution. The law says a physical stamp must be affixed to the application, and some are questioning the legality of the form they send back which has an image in the place of the stamp.
