OFFICIAL Using Wal-Mart App/Website

When that app shows it IN STOCK in my area I dont care what any employee says. IT WAS UNLOADED OFF THE TRUCK.

That's what I was initially told by WM employees(receivers specifically) who work at stores I deliver to. On the other hand, when I'm at stores where ammo shows "in stock" I have been routinely told that "just because it shows as "on hand" in the telxon, does not mean it is in the store. All it means is that it was SUPPOSED to be on the truck." I tend to believe the people I deal with on an almost daily basis, they have no reason to lie to me.
WalMarts are too anal about their inventory/receiving procedures to have as many "not-actually-on-hands" as my local stores have had in the last week alone. Just wish I had some hard evidence so I could do something about it.

Exactly. I posted about this above (#217). "In Stock" often means it's on its way. The app helped me score some today.

After a long dry spell, I finally scored 300 rounds of 9mm today using the app. The clerk had no idea it was in the store. I told her that it showed up as in stock about an hour before I got there. She went to the back and came out with a new crisp case of 100 round boxes of 9mm. So far with my experience, as soon as the manifest is scanned in when the truck gets there, ammo will appear "in stock". The lady laughed and told me I knew what she was getting before she did.

I am completely frustrated with my local WM. I had been checking every couple hours or so today to see if any 22lr had come in. Nothing for most of the morning, then around 11:30 Bingo! Showed some Federal Lightning 50pks for $.04/rd. But I've been fooled before. This time, I called the store, gave them the product number off the app and confirmed that they had some in stock. They did! 40 boxes to be exact!:D So, I drove over toot-sweet. Before running to the back of the store to claim my 3 little boxes of gold, I made a stop at the customer service desk and had them double check on their telxon (they weren't sure how, so I told them they had to look it up under the WM item number and not the UPC code). After explaining to them how to use their equipment, It was confirmed(for a second time) that the store had 40 boxes "on hand". Awesome! So I walked my happy behind back to sporting goods to claim my well earned prize. What's this? No 22lr? It can't be.....wait maybe it just hasn't been stocked yet....calm down. So, I ask the associate in SG where I can find the elusive little buggers and he informs me that any ammo they get is IMMEDIATELY stocked in the case, and if it's not there they don't have it. "Ah Ha! My good sir! Alas. I have already confirmed with two of your fellow workers that you do, indeed, have 40 boxes on hand." I then explained my story, and explained to him how to check store inventory on his telxon.(this makes three times confirmed 40 boxes on hand) Hmm...he says.....I'll have to get to the bottom of this....he says. He asked me if I could wait while he goes to find out where the 22lr is.(all of the associates have been more than polite, mind you) So, I wait for about 15 min while he looks. When he comes back, the only answer he has is that there must have been a clerical error somewhere along the supply chain. I think someone above him told him tell me that line of @*%$. A clerical error won't make an item show up as "on hand". The only thing that will do that is scanning it into the stores inventory. They scan EVERYTHING, they are lost without UPC codes! This is the second time this has happened in just over a week! Something is going on!

Rant over.

Been lurking here for a while, but I'm pissed too. Same thing happened Sunday. Nothing the day before, nothing in the morning, then suddenly 22LR, and some others pop up in several stores. Haul *** to the nearest one, guy says they don't have any. I ask him to scan the shelves and it returns a hit - 40 boxes! Turns out they are unloading a truck right now. Cool! Another associate comes over and quietly says 'I got six boxes of 5.56 in my locker - don't tell anyone.' Effing pissed, but right now I just want to pick up some different caliber stuff. They keep checking, going back to the truck, a few more people show up, they say they can't find it - probably towards the front of the trailer. An hour goes by and someone checks the manifest and says there's no 22LR on the manifest. Manager says the same, but they can't explain why it's showing up on the app AND on their scan of the barcodes. Won't let us see the manifest either.
Didn't have time this morning, but will do it tomorrow and I suggest others do the same. Call WalMart customer service and demand to talk to the Loss Prevention division. There's video camera's everywhere in WalMart - if it was on the truck, the truck made it to the store, but they don't see anything going to the shelves, well, I'm sure the ATF would like to know where all of that ammo is disappearing too since apparently a multi-billion dollar company can't keep their shipping logistics straight.

I've scored twice now with the app. Two boxes of 1000 ea M22 last week and this morning 3 boxes of 100 9mm fed all at pre BS prices. I could have got 3 more at another WM but left it for someone else.

i found federal 9mm ammo today! $69.xx after tax for 300rds. very happy with app!

check my wm last night and it showed fed 9mm 100pk coming in , looked this morning at 7am and it said the same so I hurryed and went to work by 7:45 and stopped at wm, they still had 4 boxes so I got 3.
what was odd was there was 2 boxes of fed 9mm 50pks laying there also and the app showed out of stock, there was also a box of winchester 5.56 (red/white, blue box) sitting on the shelf but the app said none.
was also something else but can't remember what is was for sure now

Sometimes that happens. Since Wal-mart still can't order ammo; the manufacturers just send stuff. So sometimes it isn't in the system on the app. I went in last week and they had 250pks of 9mm that didn't show up on the app

I agree, "in stock" doesn't mean it is actually in the store. That is more understandable than when the individual store's telxon(what they use for inventory) shows it ON HAND. The "on hand" status is the store-level inventory and should be way more accurate than the app/website. In order for an item to show up as "on hand", it has to be physically scanned into the system, which means an associate has to have been in the physical presence of said item.(they're not allowed to punch in upc codes or quantities higher than 1, and they have to use a telxon to scan every individual thing in) So, if they're system shows 25 of an item "on hand", that means that there were 25 individual scans of that type of item because everything is entered as a quantity of 1.
The people at the stores think that no one knows how their receiving/inventory system works and they think they can get away with just chalking it up to an input error. It just doesn't work that way.....unless the receiver "accidentally" scanned the same package 25 times!
I have such a hard time keeping my cool when they pull out the old excuse manual! GRRRRRRR!!!

Wow, I'm getting good at this ranting thing! :D

Beg to differ....In stock means it was unloaded off that truck, and its either in the back ready to come out on a pallet, or stuffed in an associates underwear or lunch box.

I have never left a store in my area without ammo that showed in stock.

I might have had to outsmart them a couple times and show back up a couple hours later but I got it.

I have been checking the app every couple of hours for the past 6 or so weeks. Last night I was 80 miles away from home escorting the Mrs to a church for some Ladies Club business. I checked the WM app and it showed "limited stock" finally at a WM on the way home. When her business was complete we stopped in that WM around 7 PM and chatted up the young feller there. I said he had some 100 packs of Winchester White box 45 and he said Yep, 5 boxes on the pallet in the back. I asked if he would go back and get 3 - the customer limit there - and he said he was not allowed to break into the pallets, but at around 8 PM he would be bringing stuff out to stock the shelves.

I figured I would be half way home by 8PM so we chatted a chatted a few more minutes. He said a bunch of local guys have the pattern worked out and they all show up and they buy everything. He said locals are selling the 555 packs of 22 for upwards of $100!! I asked about the 3 box limit but he said they bring their friends.

Interesting he also mentioned the 3 WM up around me. He said their ammo is on the same truck that eventually gets to his store, and that they get it first. I told him the app never shows anything in stock at those stores, not in the past 6 or so weeks. He said his stuff comes in every other day, so this week it will be Monday night, Wednesday night, and Friday night, then Sun nite, Tues nite, and so on.

The Mrs and I headed home, stopped to eat and as it was a little after 8 when we finished eating she said why not go back and give it a shot? We got back to that WM around 8:30 PM and we were just in time to see the young feller pulling out a loaded pallet with a small box on top with "Winchester" on the side, and another box with a some 9MM. He said he had to put them in the cabinet first before he could sell them to me, and while he was doing that another guy walked up, but I think he wanted 22.

After he puts the 5 boxes of 45 on the shelf he asks me how many I wanted, I said I'll take my 3 please. I guess he thought I would take all 5 using the Mrs to get the other 2, but I was not greedy. So I scored 3 boxes of WW box 100 count!!!!

Now to get some 22 somehow.

Not much luck with the app in the Denver area. Had one associate tell me there's a 24 hour delay in the information it receives. Not sure if that's true, but the guy seemed to believe what he was saying.

As a Wal-mart app afficianado I can tell you that the delay can be 2 or 3 days. Normally, when it says "in stock" that means it is on its way and will be on the shelf in 2 or 3 days. That has been my experience, and its worked for me.

Sorry, but you are wrong on this one. "In Stock" means that the manifest was scanned upon the trucks arrival. It may be at the front of the truck and may not be offloaded for several hours after arrival. I have several times had to ask the employee to go check and every time they have come out with good news.

And as for 9mm, unless it is Federal, you will not get a status of stock status.

Case and point....5.56 showed up in "limited stock" tonight and the mrs was in the area so she stopped.

Could hear the young kid working in sporting goods repeating the same thing I have heard over and over. She was persistent and after he got done waiting on everyone he went in the back and sure enough out he came with 4 boxes of 5.56.

After she left the store I checked and it was out of stock.

Like I said before, if something shows in stock, it was at least unloaded off the truck....Where it ends up after they set it on the floor is another story.

I know 3 managers at Wal-mart and "In stock" does not always mean its in the back (at least as it pertains to the app).

Well so much for ammo being put out at 7 a.m. I was there before seven am the app showed remington 225 ct 22lr in stock
the lady that waited on me said she sold the last of them at 5 a.m. this morning

It's really getting old. And its only happening with 22. I got some more 9 there this morning.

lol what time were u there

I go one box of 9 win since I was there already
there was 6 leftover when I left

My local Walmarts are starting to show In Stock on the apps but when I go there or call, there is none to be found. They check and it shows that they have some in the warehouse. As far as I am concerned, this app stinks and is worthless. It is just hit or miss when it comes to me finding any ammo at Walmart.
