Early in the day at the fairgrounds show I walked up to the first table,
the first case, and looked at the FIRST gun of the day.
It was a 3'' 60-4, with pachmayrs on it. No $ on the tag.
I ask Mr. salesman 'may I see it' and as he hands it to me he states
'' We have other new ones of those that are more expensive new''
I don't know why he felt he had to qualify his showing me the gun.
ANYway, I look it over and ask how much it is? He looks at the tag and
says ''$299.''' ,
I resisted the urge to tell him it was worth more, and promptly
bought it. The funny thing was, I had $329. in my pocket and it came
to $326.00 .
I found the J diamond Magnas for $25. and put them on when I got home.
Here is the 3" model 60-4 1990 "Limited production of target model
with full underlug and new yoke retention system"
A stark contrast to the 1948 K-38 Masterpiece that came home with
this little model 60. But nonetheless both superb shooters.
