Early in the day at the fairgrounds show I walked up to the first table,
the first case, and looked at the FIRST gun of the day.
It was a 3'' 60-4, with pachmayrs on it. No $ on the tag.
I ask Mr. salesman 'may I see it' and as he hands it to me he states
'' We have other new ones of those that are more expensive new''
I don't know why he felt he had to qualify his showing me the gun.

ANYway, I look it over and ask how much it is? He looks at the tag and
says ''$299.''' ,
I resisted the urge to tell him it was worth more, and promptly
bought it. The funny thing was, I had $329. in my pocket and it came
to $326.00 .

I found the J diamond Magnas for $25. and put them on when I got home.

Here is the 3" model 60-4 1990 "Limited production of target model
with full underlug and new yoke retention system"

A stark contrast to the 1948 K-38 Masterpiece that came home with
this little model 60. But nonetheless both superb shooters.

That is a great little gun. Was that the Orlando Fairgrounds show a few weeks back? Where are you specifically?

I have a 60-4 purchased new in the early 90s. Had a Uncle Mikes combat grip from factory. Shoots very nicely and a great packin, trail gun. It doubles as a CCW in a Don Hume #715 and FBI load.

A 38 Kit gun. They are a great gun. Love the diamond Magnas on yours. ENJOY

sorry, missed the gun show part at the flea market part,my bad, beauty of a gun, love the 3 in.,full lug look, real sweet!!

Great model. Looks like that one has seen very little use. Congratulations on your purchase. If you see another one at that price, just let me know. :D

Dang. I NEVER see deals like that, and that version of the M-60 is one of my Grail Guns. You have done well, Pilgrim! :0

I think the M-60-4 is one of the best small defense and trail revolvers ever made. I rue the day when it got turned into a .357 and acquired the MIM parts and lock.

For those who may wonder, I asked the factory if it's Rated for Plus P, and it is, and any later M-60's.

Nice find and photos! I hope you have this with you when you encounter one of those Burmese pythons that I gather are breeding naturally now in Florida. It's about the least gun that I'd want to use on one.

I have one of the 60-4's. Fantastic little revolver. the book says that they only made 2000 of them. Very good price.

Nice find. How did I miss that one as I walked the show before it opened? Congratulations on a great deal.

Also one of the very nicest Model 60s. It doesn't get any better...Bought one for myself on my birthday in 1994; nicest present I ever got.

When the .357 version came out I sold it to a friend to finance the .357. The DA on the new one was lousy in comparison and two trips to S&W didn't cure it. I was fortunate enough to trade back for the old 60-4 and gave the .357 in exchange. I still have the 60-4 and won't do THAT again.

The friend blew up the .357 M60 about a year later.

Stu , I can't tell you how glad I am that it was not one of your new acquisitions you were telling me about.
The only way you missed it, is ,you weren't looking.

Good luck
