Prettiest singers of the 1970's...

My nomination, may not have been the most attractive of the ladies' but she had the voice of an angle.. That more than made up for anything else.

Ms. Roberta Flack.

You could say the same about Aretha. She was cute as a youngster, but my gosh she seemed to just get bigger. However, nobody worries too much about her looks. She sure rocked the diner in 'The Blues Brothers;.

Well guys I checked all the lists and nobody had my favorite "heartbreaker" listed, Bobbi Gentry. Could be because her hit "Ode to Billy Joe" was from the 60's but she was hot in the early 70's. I was lucky enough to have a girlfriend that looked alot like her which could have something to do with my attraction.

Hello, Kinman. Some others liked her also; see posts 55 & 71.

Told before- was riding with my Bro in his VW headed for his apt near the Memphis AP.
Just as he turned in, Ode to Billy Joe started.
My Bro pulled into his parking spot and we just sat there and listened, didn't say a word.
We had never heard a song like that before!
We didn't really completely understand it.
Many years and a lot of listening later, I still don't completely understand it.
That's the way she wrote it!
When we heard the song, we had never heard of her before and hadn't seen her picture.
Later of course, I did see her pic and saw a gorgeous gal she was!

Back in '71ish, my GF (now wife) and I went to see The 5th. Dimension. The show was terrific. At one point in the show, the members came deep into the crowd to sing... quite a feat for having wired mic's. Well, Marilyn McCoo wound up right in front of me.

Seemingly singing right to me, sweating like a draft horse, she was probably the most beautiful woman I'd ever clapped eyes on.

:)

There's a happily ever after... married to band-mate Billy Davis Jr. for 45 years now.

David and Shaun Cassidy were pretty too.

What? Nobody specified "female"

Olivia Newton John, I think in her presence I would be (for once) speechless. Think of her and her outfit in the final scenes of Grease.

The shoot for the finale was complicated with a lot of people and she was sewed into those black stretch pants and said that after a few hours she was ready to 'go' but the director was too busy to call a break.

PS I just watched that scene. WHOE!!!!!!!!!! Dum da dum da dum da.............

Gene Simmons

True, but there's worse from the 70s floating around. Not that I can think of any offhand, but I'm sure there's worse.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mark Hamill, Ozzie Osbourne, Stephen Tyler, Keith Richards. Note that I did not include a picture of myself from the 70s, the early part of which I was scoring points in running and pole vault. Got married in '78 and became 'contented'.:(:eek:

Marilyn was absolutely beautiful, and her vocals carried the group through most of their years. "If I Could Reach You" was a great song.
