Question on and suggestions needed to do one of those karma giveaways.

I I know I'm long overdo to do one of those karma giveaways and have some questions to ask.

As I doubt I have anything anyone would want cept guns, and I already told Arik, he ain't getting them.

1) What should be offered?
2) Who should do the choosing for a winner? I want to be separate from that decision because, I might be inclined to choose someone like Snubby, Old Bear, Walkin' Jack, Kaskop //to name a few//and others that always keep me laughing.So I want to be as fair as possible about it.

I don't want to give a Walmart giftcard if you know where I'm coming from?

I know people give books, gun stuff etc, but i doubt I have any book in the collection that anyone would want? I AINT giving ammo. I ain't giving any Militaria, as I doubt any of you collect or would want any imperial, WWII or post war German Militaria.

Any suggestions on a prize? and should I ask a mod to choose a winner? I'll not be able to do this till probably March. Have to recover a bit from the holidays.

You might shoot me in the leg for admitting but, I don't own any Smith and Wesson made guns but, my Colt .45, came in a box that had their photos on it. Can't part with the box, I need it to hold my gun in.

I just changed it again. The edit and save functions work for me. (maybe you have to be in advanced mode?)
Also, you have to scroll down to the bottom part of the edit screen.

The problem is, VERY poor WiFi service at mcdonalds today. Half the time when I try posting, their WiFi shuts off and I get get page cannot be accessed. When that happens, nothing can be done and NOW the darned edit works.

For my 10,000 post karma, I gave away a J frame snubby holster. Actually it was my personal holster.
To pick a winner, my wife literally picked a number out of a hat and we announced the winner on video.

I'm thinkin' of giving away a K frame holster for my 20,000 post blathering karma.

I just passed 4000 posts so I need to do another myself. Guess I'll have to look around the reloading room for something.

I do have holsters but, all are in bad shape. I might try to do something in leather? We have two more gun shows, Jan and Feb, so might be something I can get there.

Sometimes a gun book dealer sets up shop at the shows, but never at each one. I didn't see him in Nov but he was here last week. I don't know? I guess it will be something useful from one of the upcoming shows.

You never know what others will consider treasure. Someone is getting good response to empty 9mm boxes. Who would have ever guessed. I should be something you no longer want or value, but something that others might like. I would certainly not go buy something to give away.

Some members give some real nice stuff, but being part of the poor underclass I would not get too carried away. I never participate in Karma give-a-ways, as I never know from day to day if I will be allowed back on the site, so I am probably the wrong person to advise anyone about Karma.

The Karma philosophy is nice in theory, but I have never found it overly accurate in real life. Seems like the worst villains always get a way scott free, with only rare exceptions. Keep it simple and make it easy, especially on yourself. Just your presence on these boards is some real Karma for all of us.

If you want to do a RANDOM selection:
Several previous have picked winner based on the NUMBER of the request.
You can use a RANDOM NUMBER to select the POST NUMBER.
EASY RANDOM NUMBER - Open wallet pull out a dollar bill -
use the last two digits as your WINNING POST NUMBER.
If dollar bill number is greater than number of post - try next dollar.

The random number generator is easy and it works well.

When I did a "karma", I just added a bunch of super cheapo things to orders I was already making to get free shipping. These things pile up and you give them away. They make great Christmas presents too.

Of course, we all love pocket knives.
