I can't vouch for him myself, but for a truly close shave I've heard Sweeney Todd does an excellent job. He also sells excellent meat pies as a side business.

I don't know about the one Rick endorses, it looks a little chintzy to me. Something about the way it flips open seems problematic.
But I can whole heartedly endorse the use of safety blades. They don't clog the way disposable razors do. The razor I use was my Grandfathers, the handle unscrews from the two pieces that sandwich the blade. It is at least fifty years old, and I plan on using it till I die.
Also you can't beat mug soap and a brush, much cheaper than aerosol cans.

I don't trust myself enough to put something that sharp near my throat so I use electric!!

I wish I had the safety razor I was issued when I joined the Air Force. I was a Gillette the handle screwed of the head and the head split so the blade could go in. I was lost in Vietnam. Just about 6 weeks ago I bought a Merku safety razor and a hundred Feather razor blades. I don't shave every day, the days I do shave I like the brush and soap and a close shave with the safety razor.
