Rittenhouse found not guilty on all counts

Yes he was, and of course they won’t...

My understanding is that he had offenses ranging from DUIs (one with possession loaded firearm while intoxicated), smashing his girlfriend’s window and threatening her, a felony burglary charge, and one from assaulting his grandmother (nice guy, huh...). Oh, and he has a sealed juvenile record.

Apparently, not an upstanding citizen, but I’m sure the media can help with his image/reputation. He’ll soon have some public squares named after him, and perhaps a statue/monument.

He should be extremely thankful that’s he still among the living...

Not accurate. He is not a convicted felon and had an expired concealed carry permit. He is reported to have an expunged felony and a misdemeanor alcohol/firearms related charge. He does have cases that were not pursued to prosecution from what I have read.

I think at one point he said his CCP was current now but was expired on the date of this incident.

There might be some hope for us yet! However, there are no winners here.

The rest of society won. Roseanbaum and Huber were removed from it, and the next rioting scum might think twice before being so bold to attack an armed person. And Gage whatever his name is has half his arm shot off and his 10 million dollar lawsuit has taken a hit with the not guiltily verdict and his admission in the stand that he was pointing a weapon at Rittenhouse’s head when he was shot. An illegally carried weapon, at that.

Rule 1: If you think you will need a gun, stay home. Don't cross state lines with a weapon to perform cop work unless you are a cop and actually have to.

True, but that has nothing to do with the charges or the trial. A lot of things were done wrong to make to shootings happen starting with not bring in the National guard and law enforcement to prevent the burning of the city.

Dunno. Not true here in NM, but all states are slightly different.

Remember that the Brown family won a civil case against OJ Simpson for wrongful death.

I don't recall OJ claiming it was self-defense during his criminal trial.

I think it came out that he was provided the gun after he got to Kenosha.

That is correct. He never crossed state lines with a gun.

I think the one good thing that came out of this is that people have had enough. They watched weeks of rioting with no consequences. They watched working class people lose their businesses, their homes, their life savings. They watched as the cops and the national guard stood by and did nothing. They saw the district attorneys drop the charges against the very few who were actually arrested. And many just decided they had enough. And maybe the politicians, who not only encouraged the lawlessness, but profited from it, have begun to realize they have to walk back their rhetoric. Maybe this will be the turning point. Maybe those who rioted and looted with impunity will think twice before they take to the streets again.

I said from day one that it wasn’t wise for a 17 year old to put himself in the middle of a riot. He shouldn’t have had to. The streets should have been clear that night. Those elected to make sure that happens failed in their duty. Maybe the next time there is a “peaceful protest” arrests will be made when the first brick is thrown. Maybe there won’t be another CHAZ. Maybe.

That's irrelevant. Both OJ and Kyle were charged with the local charge variants of murder and both were acquitted. 'Self-defense' is an affirmative defense, not a verdict. The jury only decides guilty or not guilty; a finding of 'not guilty' in a criminal trial is not a bar to bringing tort actions (for wrongful death) in civil court.

I was pleasantly surprised at the verdict, but even though the Left lost, they effectively sent the message that anyone standing up to the Marxists in future riots lives will become a living Hell if they dare use deadly force to resist or protect themselves.
Liberal protesters torching their own liberal cities is kind of a head-scratcher, though.
Logic and reason have never been their strong suits.

Sure, sure, but he was a convicted felon, up until his felony conviction was expunged. So yes, an expunged conviction is no longer a conviction, except he was previously a convicted felon, so there’s that. What I described in my original post is what I have seen reported, that’s why I described it as, ‘my understanding,’ and I believe it to be credible reporting. That said, I give you that there’s a whole bunch of information out there, I’m beginning to wonder if the sky is really blue!

That said, I think most reasonable people understand that this guy is a dirt bag, with a long, and considerable criminal history, including assault offenses. How about his drunk driving arrest this past January (his second, from what I’ve read). This latest DUI was dropped due to a technicality just days before this trial started. And how about his arrest for prowling/video taping police officer’s private vehicles, in a private parking lot a week before the shooting incident? This guy is affiliated with a left wing militia group whose members have assault charges against an officer. His criminal charges include assaulting his own grandmother for God’s sake. Great guy, I’m sure...!! Well, I wouldn’t want him dating my daughter, would you?

Does his record mean that he deserved to be shot, absolutely not!! His pursuing Rittenhouse with a gun in his hand, and approaching him, when he was down, with the weapon pointed at him earned him that action.

The jury has spoken.

I bet there will be no civil rights charges. He wasn’t operating under the color of law.

There may be a civil suit, but I doubt there will be a significant settlement.
he shot three convicted felons that went after him good luck with a civil suit

Hopefully Kyle is enjoying a beer or six!!

How bout some charges for the moron prosecutor for pointing an AR at the jury?? What a complete moron. And the White House owns Kyle an apology too, I'm sure that will happen right away.

Kyle may not be giddy about going to new protests.

Mark Richards, one of the defense attorneys for Kyle Rittenhouse, spoke to reporters after his client was found not guilty in his murder trial, defending his tearful testimony and describing Rittenhouse as being in counseling for PTSD and unable to sleep.

Rittenhouse, 18, was on trial for shooting three men, two of them fatally, during the August 2020 protests in Kenosha, WI over the police shooting of Jacob Blake. As the jury foreperson read the not guilty verdicts, Rittenhouse was seen on television cameras breaking down in tears and finally collapsing as the fifth and final acquittal was read.

Rittenhouse’s defense attorneys had argued that he acted in self defense, and he took the stand to tell his side of the story. As he described the events that evening that led him to pull the trigger, he hyperventilated and broke down in tears and the judge called a brief recess.
