I see that S&W just released an all metal M&P 40. Obviously, they get that some of us like metal pistols. I'm hopeful that they will eventually offer a metal Shield variant and a metal Bodyguard .380. I really want a small metal pocket .380. Beretta offers the Tomcat, but that is chambered in .32 ACP.

I've brought this up before and others have stated that being metal takes away from concealability due to the weight. Concealability has multiple factors. Concealability can mean compact, lightweight, or compact AND lightweight. All metal in a small package can help dampen the recoil.

I'm buying as soon as something like this hits the market.

Does anyone think Glock will follow suit with metal versions of their more popular pistols? Do they even have the tooling to make metal frames?

Good idea! Would still like to see the Chief Special series be produced again. Probably a long shot but we can hope.

From 1995 to 2005 +/-, departments dumped revolvers for polymer autos in a major frenzy! I bought department trade-ins at a couple LGS at reasonable prices, I probably bought 20. Mostly J and K frame 2" with an occasional Cold Cobra in the mix. As I went to trade for things that better suited my accumulation, people that actually shot guns liked the steel frames better! The "Gun Magazine Commandos" wanted High Cop 9mm's in alloy or polymer and "Hide-out" guns that weighed nothing! I currently have 5 left: 36, 49, 12, 15 and a Cobra. I EDC the 49 and love the 15-2, I could take or leave the rest. Starting about 12-15 years ago smith brought out N-Frame snubby. In 2017 I got a 629-10 PC 2 5/8" It weighs like a concrete block, hides terrible and kicks like a mule, but is more fun than anything else I can do with my clothes on! It just proves: Different Strokes for Different Folks!
