CNN is currently reporting shots being fired at Terminal 3 at LAX. The fire department is describing it as a multi-patient incident. Supposedly a witness saw someone with a long gun but one CNN reporter actually told Wolf Blitzer let's not overreact to that since it could have been a plainclothes LEO with a weapon!

Surprising that coming from CNN. Shepard Smith on Fox is just endlessly speculating. The only semi reliable witness he had was a Fox Sports guy who was in the terminal when it happened. He didn't have a whole lot of detail.

Per CNN,man with long gun opened fire at TSA check point, one TSA agent down.. LAX is on lock down, traffic in area crazy. Stay away if possible...

All per CNN

I don't even know what to say any more, besides no I'm not giving up my stuff. Praying for those involved.

I doubt we hear much about this one just like the one at the Navy yard. It dosent fit there agenda. No children were involved..

Early word is that the gunman was a TSA worker. Maybe he was hearing voices in his head and went koo-koo.

FoxNews;

"Fire officials said they are responding to assist multiple patients with injuries
and the city was placed on a tactical alert"

What ever that means....

Prayers for all involved.

I think it's crazy that all of these sub-news sites have full blown articles talking about gun control and why it is ok for civilian's to possess such firearms already. It's almost like they have all of these files saved with add-lib lines.

Oh No!!!! Now I suppose the TSA will be armed after this fiasco.

Anyone who does get shot without any probable cause is not right though.

Story "now" is white male, AR 15 with "anti government literature" on him. How convenient a distraction, when it's really needed. Hmmm, I'll go get my tinfoil beanie from the dry cleaners now. Joe

They're quoting that the gunman had "3 magazines" on him, big whoop, I bet most of us has 3 or more mags for all of our firearms. The little details they put out make me sick.

1340 hrs. CNN now reporting shooter down and under arrest.

Driving home at 1600 radio reported LAX still closed.

Kinda like San Diego last week. Still had the freeways shut down hours after the BG was caught.

How could this be? Isn't it already against the law to have an AR 15 in Ca.? You don't mean a nut job ignored the strict gun laws in Ca.?
Almost surely as always, it's someone who should have already been locked up or in a mental health facility to begin with.

Mental Health is surly an issue.

Closing the institutions for budget reasons is showing it's effects.

Untold numbers of these walking time-bombs are loose on the streets.

INSTEAD OF GAINING THE MEDICAL HELP THEY REQUIRE.:(

State mental health institutions weren't closed because of budget reasons. At least that wasn't the primary reason. Starting about 50 years or so ago there were several court actions, many by the ACLU, to force the states to close their inpatient mental health facilities (state hospitals) because of the conditions, lack of treatment, allegations of cruelty, and so on. The problem is that the proposed solution, community based mental health services, never developed to take their place. At to that court decisions and legislation that required care to take place in "the least restrictive setting" possible and the impossibility of compelling people to take their medications, and we have the current disaster that is mental health care in this country.

Whenever this topic comes up, I recommend reading Clayton Cramers Blog and his book "My Brother Ron". It gives a detailed history of mental health care from colonial times up until this century.

In other news, I saw an interview on CNN with a "former CIA counter terrorism expert" who said that the solution is to move the TSA check points out to the curb. He apparently mistakes the TSA mission of clearing passengers to fly, with fighting attacks by terrorists. Talk about mission creep. He was trying to equate this attack with a terrorist mission to breach the security of the airport and get to a plane. I hope that no on in a position of authority pays attention to him.

Didn't Carlos the Jackal use Screening check points to his advantage? Its a choke point. People are all standing in line, looking forward, not looking at who or what's going on behind them. Run up toss a grenade and run. Least secure place you can be anywhere? The TSA line

Why would America invest in institutions when the pharmaceutical industry is just creating and tricking many, many American's into thinking they NEED to have meds rather than institutions. I know first hand the effects. My now Ex-Girlfriend cannot act normal without medication(yep, you guessed it, i pick the crazies). It's sad, my own mother is also the same. Been told day after day, its her depression, just kicking the stool out from under her, leg by leg. The mentality in this country is sickening. I am seeing it early on, and I am in fear for what this country will become. Without proper action, we will only have reaction, out of spite, and we will never move forward.

Guess I better buy my M&P 15 now cause they just came out saying that's what the rifle was and it will probably be banned soon. Picture I saw looked an awful lot like a mini14 with a pistol grip and collapsible stock (illegal configuration, forget the non neutered magazines) but the pictures all suck.

Just don't let the anti-gun nuts use "mental health issues' to increase the number of people who can't possess guns. Obamacare already has a provion for sharing insured persons health records with various agencies. The National Security Agency is one of them; I didn't know the NSA provided health care. That information will be used against us, be careful what you tell your doctor.
