Les, if that pre 30 had '90s sights and my Tyler T-grip on it, I would leave my Model 36 at home.

I have a bunch of Tylers, from a number of different vintages, with the different markings. Somewhere around here I have a T Grip that fits the I frame. I have more guns than I do Tylers, though, so I don't have it on this particular gun right now. I'll have to get a picture of it with the grip on it!! And I do like the Tylers. Unless I'm carrying one of the new guns like the 340 above that have the boot grip on it, I like to use the Tylers.

Doc, I apologize if we are drifting away from your original thread theme. But when you said "snub" you struck a chord that resonates with a bunch of us here!!!

I came across this "snubbie" a couple of weeks ago and though I was not really in the market the price was half of what the going rate on GunBroker is so although it's not a k-frame it does have a k-frame grip.

My new to me 386PD.

My one & only K frame snub. A 19-3 pawn shop rescue. Aside from some J frame snubs, I'm new to the appreciation of the K frame snubs.

J Frames are good snubs too. There was a post this week about how the little 32's have become difficult to find since they were all rechambered to the 327. I have a few. Here's a nice nickel one I got 2 years back for just a tad below $400. It's an M31 from the early 1970's. I just like the way the screwdriver matches the gun so I put it in the picture.

I firmly believe that the 2.5" 19 and 66 are the best looking handguns ever made.

I have considered rechambering my 3" 1969 vintage 31-1 for .32 H&R.
The extra horsepower from Buffalo Bore's H&R HP load would be nice in such a small package.
I'm still on the fence about it.

I like the Regulation Police .32s also, in fact I like all .32s, here is my almost mint RP which came with the box, papers and half a box of ammo for under $400:

Here are a couple of country cousins, pre model 30s, known back then as .32 Hand Ejectors...one I frame, the other "Improved" I frame:



Just for the heck of it, how about one of my purdiest Colts? Colt Pocket Positive .32 Colt New Police (same as .32 S&W Long)...this one is almost mint, but it gets shot anyway. All my guns get shot some. There are so many that have followed me home over the years that they have to take turns!!:



None of these have been reamed to the longer cartrige.

But back to the issue of .32s. I simply can't get enough of them. The ones that I posted earlier, and copied below are just a few. I also have quite a number of .32 Automatics. But I'll stick to snubbies in this thread:

If you are willing to go up to the .38 S&W cartridge, though, you can still stay with the I frame and go with the Terrier:



Here's another early J frame that sometimes gets carried, I bought this one from a fellow forum member last summer, a Chiefs Special Hammerless, later called the Centennial, still later to become the Model 40:

Chief Specials. Inherited from a CPD Commander. The chrome job was a backup, and sadly not factory chromed.
I have shot them a lot, certainly more than the late Commander. Quite a guy. I miss him.

Bikes. . .that Lawrence chamois lined holster is so rare. When I was a kid in 1960 I ordered one. It is the only one I have ever seen in person. Let the holster go with the gun some years later. Needless to say the holster is worth much more today than the gun I bought it for.

I've picked up 4 snubbies this year....2-J's (36, 60-15) and 2-K's (66-4, 19-5).

The 19-5 was a "friends and family" sale from my brother-in-law who is retired LEO. He has a safe full of long and short guns. Most of the handguns are Colt revolvers and pistols. The 19-5 was an oddball that he didn't particularly like to shoot. I was more than happy to take it off his hands!
