so....one guy disappears and another just can't come out with a product....i'm tired of waiting.

is there any other option for a better charging handle latch???

and...anyone have a bolt release that works with the mp15-22? What about modding a BAD or one of the other brands to work?

Patience is a virtue. Or you could make your own? :)

Yes you can get a magpul bad lever and bend it to work on the 15-22. Lots of guys have that working for them. Do a thread search for more info, shouldn't take too long.

I can't help with a latch, but a steel charging handle will work a lot smoother.

I'm one of those guys. It didn't take much to make the MagPul BAD lever fit. It took just a couple bends. I put the BAD lever in a vise & just gave it gentle nudges.

I then used a dremel to remove jut a little material in the area circled in red.

It took me about 10 min.

Can't help with the charging handle. I'm happy with the one that's on there.

I have an aluminum charging handle but it seems to cause more controversy then anything. I'm happy with it and that's all that matters.

I have thought about making a replacement charging handle out of aluminum, but the cost would be too high.

How much is too high?

What about a variety of just latches that are in the styles of all the popular latches that are available for the ar15?

Price is right, nobody would be willing to pay what it takes to make one. Then everyone has the argument that the aluminum will wear away too much plastic.no wear in a years time from this so far.

Jody,

Price is NOT bad at all! Are they made in the US? I am guessing they are, because I know how you are about the Made in US thing :)

My only caveat on these charging handles is the rifle is plastic and the charging stroke very short in comparison to the 5.56mm version. I'd rather break a plastic charging handle than mess up the upper receiver. Pure speculation, of course. The existing handle works perfectly.

Gimmicks like the MagPul "BAD" device are rarely seen on the rifles of armed professionals who know fine motor skills vanish in gunfights and just cycle the charging handle to close the bolt. You can just slap the bolt stop to close. Hardly a fine motor skill. Leave the gimmicks for the glossy gun magazine types...

i'm only looking for a bigger latch, i could care less for the rest of the charging handle...should have made that more clear in my title.

and as for a bad lever.....you make thing it's a gimmick..but for my uses it's VERY handy. You bringing up "armed professionals" is just about ignorant in this forum...this gun is/was/never will be used for anything other than just plinking, but in squirrel hunting times i'd rather keep my eye on target than losing sight picture by smacking the bolt release when i could just easily use my finger to release it. It's nothing about being tacticool......that's lasers, flashlights, and all that other bull**** no one really uses

Check out Plinker Tactical's web site for handles and hi cap mags.....
