Good thing... I certainly wouldn't date me!

I can count on one hand the number of times Ruthie and I have had a serious argument...
The Mrs and I have had one or heated argument in 30 years. It was about getting another dog and I gave in.

It turns out she was right again. That's OK, I'm accustomed to being wrong. I'm a man!

After 51 years of this partnership I have learned several truths. One biggy is what I thought was a compliment may not be a compliment to her. Just the other day I gave her a great compliment. Seeing a stunning sexy hotrod of a young lady in line with us, I asked my wife if she remember when she looked like that. A compliment, I thought. I now know better.

I'm not the OP, but I'll offer my observations...
Jewelry stores, florist's, and candy shops.
The more you spend, the more you'll mend.

I would kindly disagree. Buying her all sorts of goodies doesn't absolve you from anything. It's like posting bail but you're on probation the rest of your lives together.

She will wear your jewelry. She will water the flowers. She will eat the candy. She will also meticulously add the current offense to the list of past offenses you thought were long forgotten only to have them thrown in your face when you least expect.
