Inappropriate laughter in a serious situation is indictive of a psychotic personality. Well now, that brings to mind a person who I shall not name for obvious reasons here on this firearms forum.
I can count on one hand the number of times Ruthie and I have had a serious argument.

The only off switch is "OK - you're right". It doesn't mean they ARE right, it's just the only way to end the argument. You can't argue with someone who agrees with you. If you just stop talking, it's not over.

As an old friend used to say, "I didn't know what complete happiness was until I got married. But by then, it was too late."
After 51 years of this partnership I have learned several truths. One biggy is what I thought was a compliment may not be a compliment to her. Just the other day I gave her a great compliment. Seeing a stunning sexy hotrod of a young lady in line with us, I asked my wife if she remember when she looked like that. A compliment, I thought. I now know better.

I would kindly disagree. Buying her all sorts of goodies doesn't absolve you from anything. It's like posting bail but you're on probation the rest of your lives together.
She will wear your jewelry. She will water the flowers. She will eat the candy. She will also meticulously add the current offense to the list of past offenses you thought were long forgotten only to have them thrown in your face when you least expect.

Me too, first wife 1965.
I had a 1963 Chevy Impala SS, with a 409 engine.
Got married in 1965 traded my car for a 1965 Chevy Impala with a automatic trans so she could drive it.
Should've got rid of her and kept my 409.
